This is a beautiful cottage, well designed and stylishly decorated.
It was a perfect layout for us, compact with easy access to all areas. Mary-Jane has done a great job with this property, she should feel very proud. The kitchen has everything needed for a stay with a very spacious breakfast bar giving plenty of room for preparation and eating. The lounge area is great with a huge television, having Netflix and Now TV is great too, although the internet did occasionally dip but it wasnât a big deal. The bedroom has a very comfy bed with an en-suite shower room. The shower is a good size, loved the sliding door. The weather was warm and sunny so being able to sit in the garden was brilliant. The locals are a friendly bunch especially the owner of the mini mart, I had quite a chat with him. His shop is well stocked with a good variety of items. On the Saturday we were staying the Cheese and Bread man had his van parked up in the village hall car park. His sesame bloomer and cinnamon swirls were excellent and were selling fast. It was lovely to chat with the villagers who were queuing up to buy his bread. The whole village is very attractive with lovely village greens, plus two pubs. Iâd recommend the Inn on the Green they have two outside areas to sit in plus the bar area is very pleasant too. The Black Horse, although only a few paces away from The Forge, isnât as friendly, we werenât that keen on the place. We enjoyed walking our dog around the village, thereâs plenty of different routes to take. During our stay we visited The Dambusters Inn in Scampton, only a couple of miles or so down the road and well worth a visit. Great memorabilia on the walls plus good beer and even better food. We also had a day out at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, we really enjoyed it plus the icing on the cake was seeing and hearing the Lancaster taxiing, a fantastic experience. So all in all we had a very good holiday, would definitely consider returning. Another lovely property from Sykes, thank you.

We arenât typical holiday guests- we live in the same road and our building work suddenly hit a snag which meant an immediate departure for us and our dog.
So we knew already that itâs a great location for uphill Lincoln! The house was very comfortable and blissfully free of the clutter we live in at the moment. The kitchen is well equipped without too much-we stayed in another property on holiday last year where there was so much stuff that it was overwhelming. The handbook was great, just a simple welcome, no long list of restrictions and some useful info re appliances. The living room was a comfy haven in the evenings and the tv was the same as ours and let me use my Apple TV login. We only used downstairs but the double bed was very comfortable and the shower room great, with ample hot water. The welcome wine and choice were much appreciated! We would use this again if we needed an overflow for visitors. Thanks for a great stay!

Very dated property and even smells old.
Three piece suite needs replacing. Front bedroom bed and mattress needs replacing. Television needs updating. Shower is tiny with nowhere to put shampoo/soap etcetera. Bathroom sink takes forever to empty. No freezer. Blunt kitchen knives and stained chopping boards. Not even any salt and pepper. Three sheets of tatty A4 paper with limited instructions (laminators are not very expensive!) Drive a very, very tight squeeze for our wheelchair accessible vehicle. Great, quiet location but could be so much better with a little investment. Definitely overpriced for what it is. Begrudgingly bagged the bedding and towels we used as per the tatty instructions. We left early as we couldn't face another night. Would only return if it was updated to a much better standard.

I spent a thoroughly enjoyable week in this lovely, welcoming, Georgian house.
It is in a quiet, safe-feeling, residential part of Louth yet only five minutes from the centre. Parking is on the minor streets nearby and can be sometimes difficult to find. It was warm, comfortable and beautifully clean. It was equipped with everything one could need. Rebecca had thoughtfully left many books and booklets about the history of Louth which were very interesting. I enjoyed following some of the town trails which explored much of its fascinating history. I love the varied architecture of Louth. A walk along the river at Hubbards Hill was a good finish to the day. I visited Lincoln, and Donna Nook Seal reserve where I saw seal pups. Being in the comfort of Magdalene House added much pleasure to my week.

Albert's Lodge was a great place for us to stay.
There was plenty of room for just two of us. It was in an ideal location, and was set in a quiet street. We could just see the Cathedral from outside the property. The accommodation was totally adequate, and we had all the facilities we needed. The bungalow was clean and comfortable, and access with the 'key box' was easy too. Had we not had a map of the area, we would have had difficulty finding it from the instructions given though, as we apporached it from the ring road! We did meet one of the owners, who was very polite, when he came to put the bins out. We appreciated his doing that, as we had no idea when they were to be put out. All in all a very enjoyable place to stay.
