What our customers say about their holidays

    • Philip - Verified booking

We arrived on the Friday afternoon.

A telephone call to Vicki, the site manager, allowed us through the entrance barrier with directions to the Lodge and the key code to the property. On entering, we found a large spacious lodge with everything we would need for our stay. The whole lodge was clean and immaculate. Shortly after arriving Vicki came to introduce herself and told us that should any problem arise, she was on the site 24/7. What was immediately noticable was how quiet the site was. The lodges are well spaced out so you get no noise from other visitors. For us, the main attraction of this site was the fishing lake that is well stocked with several different fish species. Not having fished for several decades, we were amazed at how quickly the fish took our bait (garlic sausage being the favorite for the smaller fish). There are also some very large Carp that will take floating bread from the surface right in front of you. After a hard days fishing, it was great to spend the evening relaxing in the large Hot Tub. Outside the site their are several places to eat within a 5 minute drive. I would recommend Demiens on the next roundabout towards Lincoln on the A46 and Pennels Garden Centre directly across the first roundabout. We have stayed in Lodges all over the country three to four time a year and usually never go back to the same place. However, this lodge, the surrounding area and the fishing lake will see us again soon. I would highly recommend a stay at Sunset Lodge No6.

Almost as soon as we arrived we were contemplating a second week which we duly booked.

It’s a really spacious apartment with loads of light, multiple seating areas indoor and out, views all around the countryside and beautifully quiet. It’s only a 20 minute walk to the village of Kibworth Beaumont with supermarket, local butcher and a variety of restaurants, pubs and takeaways. The place is surrounded by lovely historic villages, towns, canals, walks, places of interest and things to do. The décor and furnishings are comfortable with a great bed, good towels and enough cooking equipment to make a Sunday roast with all the trimmings should you want to. The owner is nearby, super helpful and left a fabulous welcome pack for us. There are also leaflets with local info and maps. The apartment is above a garage so there’s no adjoining neighbours and loads of privacy. Although there were issues with the host wi-fi (which we knew about pre-arrival), the cottage is not in a black spot and we had good Wi-Fi and phone service using our own provider. Highly recommended

I would like to start with the good reviews first.

The Lodge was perfect with very good comments in the visitors book. All conveniences were catered for. The owner was a lovely lady and pleasant to talk to. Now for the not so good. The Lodge was not heated sufficiently for November. We looked in the information book to see if we could change it. The only thing we found was a statement that it was heated to a correct temperature for comfort so need not be altered. The main bedroom never reached over 18 It was a good job we brought thick clothes. I always take throws away and they came in handy. Further the quilt on the bed was very light for the time of year and no extra blankets provided. Again my throws came in handy. I want to end on a lighter note, despite my comments. would we come again! definitely. But perhaps not so late in the year. Dorothy

The cabin was clean , tidy and well stocked.

The owner engaged with me before and during our stay. The site is much smaller than the info would suggest with the ' lake' being more if a pond and the cabins are closer together than they look in the photos. I was however disappointed with the reaction from the owner when the shower in the main bathroom was broken . The owner did respond quickly but was unable to fix it during our stay. I was dismayed that her texted response to me was that the bath still functioned! ( Unfortunately 1 of the guests with mobility issues could get into a bath but would not have been able to get out.) True, there was an ensuite but using it felt like encroaching on the private space of other guests Luckily we were a group of very good and established friends. We had a great time.

      Absolutely fantastic stay!

From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed, and that feeling extended to our furry friend too. The host Ashley was incredibly accommodating, making sure both us and our dog had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The garden was simply stunning, providing a peaceful oasis where we could relax and unwind. It was the perfect spot for our pup to explore and stretch his legs everyday. The accommodation was clean, cozy, and filled with thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a pet-friendly getaway with beautiful surroundings!
