"The location of this property was 10 out of 10, and that is where it ends, property dated in need of a re-vamp, shower next to no water pressure, had to stand in the bath and shower with a jug, cannot flush certain things down the toilet we are in England only expect to see sign,s of this nature in countries abroad, not happy with paying £5 per phone for wifi access when paying best part of a £1,000 for our stay expected more, welcome pack with local information not helpful, if as much effort had have been put in to the welcome pack as the A 4 sheets as to what you cannot do plastered all over the kitchen maybe it would have been ok, did not see the owner for the whole duration of our stay, stayed at cheaper locations got a welcome pack such as a pint of milk just basics really, I feel it is a shame as it could have been so much better customer service really lets this place down, and with such a price tag attached an extra effort should have been made by the owner, the customer always comes first with any business."

"Outside of cottage, window frames, gutters etc were filthy and very disappointing, also lots of bulbs blown inside so very dark in some areas of kitchen and upstairs corridors. Lovely house and such a shame housekeeping let it down - this one needs a good tidy up if staying on your brochure as worst one we have had with dirty outside areas etc. There was an explaination in their paperwork inside saying please excuse the outside as we do not clean as we want to encourage wildlife !! I can understand the borders etc, but not filthy window frames, things growing around light fittings and out of gutters, and pots left to look abandoned - very unpleasant. Lots of unsightly broken tiles in entrance conservatory too - we wondered what on earth we were going in to. Not worth the money we paid for it at all with that presentation but a lovely outlook on lake. One outside area had red/ white caution tape across it to show a steep fall - perhaps a tidy fence would look better and take little effort."

"This is a gem of a property, either for familys or group holidays (we were the latter). We arrived to find the property spotlessly clean and very spacious. We loved the ruralness of the location, it provided us plenty of walks and cycling. Just a short walk to the local pub which had lovely homecooked food.We couldn't really find fault with this property and appreciate the constraints of its location and property style with that in mind cannot rate low against it. However, if at all possible suggest the only 2 items where improvements (if possible) be made are; 1) Showers - 3 in the property, which is great for a large party, howevever we all used the one in the basement due to the lack of pressure to the other 22) Pillows. Some beds had 2, some only had 1 and they were very flat. Overall this property was brilliant, we all had a fantastic time throughout our stay and would definatley return."

"Just returned from our christmas break at gunside farm, what can i say the cottage was fantastic it was just great for christmas, it was very spacious cosy lovelly and warm just wished we used the log burner more as it was so warm we did not need it. It was well equiped only thing we missed was some kitchen utensils but we made do. The intetnet was up and down depending on where you were in the cottage but was a bonus as not advertised with wi fi. The owners were very accomadating even puting a second telly in so the kids could play there games and very friendly. Loved feeding the chickens kids did to, we did not go out much as wanted relaxing break but is a great location for exploring the area and not to far from the town with fantastic views. Would highly recomend thank you to the owners it lived up to our expectations and more. The white and Bouher family"

"We enjoyed our stay at the Flint Mill, but it was lacking just a bit of care and attention. The kitchen wasn't properly clean, there was a leaky tap and the dishwasher didn't wash the utensils properly. The blinds in the lounge were broken and the en-suite shower didn't work. It was still a nice property, as long as you don't mind having no phone reception and no internet. The walks were absolutely lovely and it was nice having the trains and boats going past. Unfortunately we had to attend A and E as my daughter fell down the stairs (which was her fault and nothing to do with the stairs) and the information for the local hospital was wrong and out of date. The phone book was from 2009/10 so was out of date aswell. Obviously it isn't going to happen very often but if you do need to use the A&E you need up to date information."
