About this property

A lovely little 'hide-a-way' cottage in an 'out of this world' location on the edge of Crowdecote with its great village pub.

Nestled up on the side of Dovedale, in the tiny hamlet of Crowdecote, is the unique cottage - The Potting Shed. This is an excellent base for couples looking to really get out there in the outdoors and explore. The Potting Shed is compact, yet bright and airy and has everything you need for a great stay. The views from the cottage are outstanding, looking across the valley, so make sure you witness at least one sunrise or sunset during your stay!

Put your walking boots on and ramble through the Peak District on one of the many footpaths radiating from the cottage. Head up the Upper Dove Dale Valley and enjoy a walk from Crowdecote to Pilsbury Castle. You’ll find the village of Longnor nearby, a great place to grab a bite to eat or visit the local craft centre. A short drive away is Buxton, with its amazing Opera House and beautiful Georgian and Victorian architecture and the famous market town of Bakewell. .

Quite a bit smaller than we imagined and we had to be very organised with our belongings in order to be comfortable for the week. That said the backdrop and garden were a delight many birds visited and the view just stunning at the front of the property. The local pub was just delightful, with amazing food. Visiting in the winter was a little problematic as despite there being a dehumidifier in situ the condensation was constant, especially in the little shower room where the wall behind the toilet was soaking wet and peeling .The underfloor heating was a lovely bonus and the bed extremely comfortable. I would recommend the Potting Shed for a short stay

Small but perfectly formed, ideal romantic getaway! The scenery was amazing! We had to cancel some of our stay due to snow but was fine- can't be helped! Cottage had everything we needed for our stay, warm and cosy on return from our outings. Would recommend.

A very comfortable cosy stay at the Potting shed. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful. Lovely days out and walks close by and a bit farther. 2 local pubs are dog friendly aswell. Lovely well stocked little shop and fish and chip shop in nearby Longnor. All in all a fab holiday
