"Lovely little village. New farm shop 2 miles away which is great. Owners quick to respond and had kindly agreed to us arriving earlier ( 1.15) if we needed too.Cottage...Bathroom in need of an overhaul. Not able to use bath due to faulty hot water tap ( no water coming out). Strong unpleasent smell of urine coming from around toilet floor which could not be missed. Owners made aware of smell and problem with bath straight away ( not sure how the problems were missed by cleaner or owners when they were there just prior to our arrival) They came round promptly to try and fix but could not. They did not want to inconvenience us with a plumber coming out during our stay. Whilst they did come out and we agreed to no plumber, it did spoil the stay. Owners have arranged for tap to be mended and the flooring is to be changed. It would have been nice if a gesture of goodwill had been offered to acknowledge the inconvenice. Owners are friendly. They are making improvmemts. Wood burner in lounge is nice and warm. Although it does say that fuel and electric ( electric radiators and oven) is provided, you need to supply own logs and coal etc. Best get from farm shop. Garden is lovely and had the weather allowed we would have enjoyed sitting out in it. Would we stay again ? No. We booked last minute so choice was limited. Not fault of owners. Owners very quick to respond and are keen to make sure work is done."

"Overpriced, needs overall, few things broken or not working, we reported to reception and some things sorted but bathroom light didn’t get resolved, stained carpet, tatty kitchen cupboards/draws, leaking kettle which was replaced with a tatty travel version and took an age to boil, front door had issues too!Out doors had court yard, desperately needed weeding, washing hanger outside but no pegs, ironing board unstable, ironing board cover past its best so slipped off, only 3 dining chairs (supposed to be 4), pottery set had silly sized small bowls, blinds didn’t fit, frayed and you couldn’t reach the pulley without standing on a chair, no instruction for appliances accept cooker, double glazing blown, no welcome book for the cottage. On a positive note, bedding clean/crisp, welcome pack with basic groceries was a nice touch. The touch left for guests didn’t work but a replacement was provided by the gentleman on reception which we appreciated as we had dogs with us.However very disappointing, on the wall there was an old 13/14 Visit England tourist board certificate, we feel it’s a long time since the Farrier Cottage has been 4*"

"The cottage made a good central point to visit the area. It was clean, nicely presented, and quite comfortable. The people around about were very friendly and welcoming. However, there were a few things that prevented the cottage from feel like that special place you would want to come back to. Delabole has a good pub, a Spar and a Fish and Chip shop, but otherwise perhaps isn't as charming as many of the surrounding villages. The drive is very tight, rough and quite difficult to turn into and shared with other houses. Parking is very limitted at the cottage and on the road. Outside the cottage looked a little untidy and un-cared for. The grass was very long and full of weeds making it difficult to use the outside space. Unfortunately inside the dishwasher was not working and during our stay the boiler broke down so we had no hot water, although that was fixed pretty quickly by the house manager, Ian. Basically, it did not feel as nice a place to stay as other cottages we have rented, although clearly the area around is very popular."

"We stayed at Samphire House for 6 nights. Check in was easy, biscuits and tea waiting for us. It was lovely, comfy and homely. We had everything we needed including Tupperware for picnics and beach towels. Lovely patio to sit out and a barbecue . Perfect location 5 minutes walk in to town centre. The parking space is a real asset. We received a lovely card in the post wishing us a happy holiday which was a lovely touch from the Penny & Tony. Lots of eating places we loved Paul Ainsworth at No6, The Mariner on Rock, Rojanos In The Square and Rick Steins St.Petroc. Then you can cycle it all off on the Camel Trail. We hired our bikes from Trail Bike Hire. We would highly recommend staying at Samphire House. It has everything you need "

"I had a very enjoyable stay at Pollendor. Howeer, I decided it was too far to drive to Falmouth from Yorkshire so I came by train. My friend came down from London. My friend has been diagnosed with Parkinson's and she chose Pollendor from the list of places advertised. The house itself was very comfortable with a lovely view of the sea. But in order to enjoy such a view we didn't realise that Pollendor was situated on a hill above the town. We managed but a car would have made things easier though I realise that extra holiday traffic in Cornwall is not encourged by those living there. So although it was a very good holiday I can't see myself or my friend coming down to Cornwall again in the foreseeable future."
