An excellent property for our group of 8, for several reasons: 1.
Most had their own bedroom and en-suite - not easy to find such provision. 2. What a relief to have 2 guaranteed parking spaces (for fairly large cars) on the front, and we were always able to park 2 other cars on the road opposite or in the lane round the corner. 3. Well placed for using public transport: regular no 12 bus to the harbour or to Paignton/Torquay or towards Dartmouth; we took the bus to Paignton, the steam train return to Kingswear, the short ferry to Dartmouth. A 20 minute walk to the harbour, but some of us took the bus or got a taxi back up the hill (£5 with tip). 4. Plenty of pubs and restaurants. We liked the Golden Lion, 5 minutes walk down the hill towards town - reasonably priced pub food and a pleasant atmosphere. Recommend the Albero (the fish menu is good); the Prince William has a good outlook over the harbour; the Casa Nostra Italian was pleasant. We ran out of nights to try the Rockfish with its interesting looking fish menu. 5. Spoilt for things to do: walks both ways along the coast, or round the coast from Dartmouth; drive or walk to Berry Head - the wild flowers were lovely; drive or bus to Kingswear/Dartmouth and do the river cruise to Agatha Christie's house (National Trust) and gardens; Dartmouth itself is interesting and photogenic, and the museum with focus on Thomas Newcomen and his 1712 'the world's first steam engine' is worth a visit (plus the extra free bit at the tourist office). And of course the harbour area of Brixham itself is very scenic. So yes, we can recommend the property and the area!

We were extremely disappointed with our stay and had to raise issues from day one.
Kettle was dangerous as it just kept boiling, no washing bowl and no plug in sink. They were the small issues. Radiators broken and one on permanently which was unpleasant with it being warm outside! Not cleaned properly, crisps and dust found in drawers, balloons and dirt under sofa. Donât get me started on the mould! In the kitchen under the sink, in the lean to, in the boiler cupboard and in the wardrobes. We couldnât even hang our clothes (had to live hour of a suitcase). There is clearly a problem that needs addressing to stop the mould long term. Owners say they have cleaned it but unless treated properly this will come back! Facilities - there might be enough sleeping facilities for 11 but downstairs does not accommodate this. The kitchen is not big enough, table cannot seat 11 even if using the breakfast bar. No cupboards to put food in and only one small fridge (not enough space for 11). The pictures are deceiving and make this property look better than it is. For the amount we paid we would not come back and would not recommend this for families or anyone with health problems.

The Nook was a beautifully presented cottage with lots of traditional features and modern touches.
The welcome pack was much appreciated after a long drive, thankyou. It was close to the town centre and a great base for a week's holiday. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was amazing. The kitchen was well equipped and we ate at home several evenings. A couple of points worth noting: The traffic lights are two cars length from the front door and awaiting cars can be heard clearly as the front door opens directly into the pavement. The road can be noisy. The instructions state no parties and be considerate neighbours but the neighbour to our left was not so considerate and partied onto 4:00am on the first Monday, so much so we had to change rooms. The detail of the cottage includes woodburning stove and starter pack. This is not accurate. It is a gas fire. The cottage is centrally heated so we didn't need to use it, but it is misleading. That being said we had a great week and enjoyed our stay in Brixham.

It was clean but I checked the pillows in the main bedroom and two black hairs on the pillow cases Garden patio area abit tired empty rush sweeping brush just there, screwed up wind breaker in corner and some tiles from bathroom outside The radiators in the kitchen needs a good clean and tops of radiators in the main bedroom did also Sofa really uncomfortable and loads of dog hair down the cracks (we know it’s a dog friendly place but still) but the chairs weren’t and the games were a nice touch Water (because it was brixham ) was delivered daily which was nice Cigetette and cigar ends were all over the drive and pathways up the the house which wasn’t nice Little bags left out were a nice touch along with the dog treats The seating area at the top of the garden was a nice feature.Netflix was also nice feature

The accommodation was very well equipped for our party of ten across three generations.
It was warm and comfortable, provided plenty of scope for a game of hide and seek on a wet afternoon, was convenient for the short walk into town and also convenient for several National Trust properties, tourist attractions and coastal walks. We had a very enjoyable family holiday and would recommend the property to anyone seeking a holiday in this area. The travel instructions from Sykes Holidays were rather strange, there is no need to go across the ferry from Dartmouth to Kingswear to get to Brixham wherever you are coming from!! Once in Brixham, the property is easy to find and has ample parking for two cars and other parking available on the road outside.
