"I really can't recommend Castle View highly enough! What a beautiful house in a beautiful location! We had some of the most gorgeous sunsets I've ever seen, and there is so much space around you that you get almost a 360 degree view of the sky!The house was very clean, and we felt extremely welcome as soon as we drove up the drive - my dog immediately discovered that treats had been scattered around outside for her! (She is very easily won over with food!) When we got into the house, we found fresh roses in the living room, which were absolutely gorgeous! The furniture and decor were uncluttered and everything matched everything else. The beds were very comfy, and I loved the ensuite bathroom, although the shower had a tendency to fill up a little bit.The free wifi was an added bonus, and worked better than in most hotels I've stayed in, and the TV got good reception. The kitchen was well equipped, with a nice big dishwasher, and the washing machine also came in useful! Tea, coffee and condiments were provided, and we were also pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of milk in the fridge too! (I do agree with previous reviews in that a freezer might have been helpful, but you can't have everything!)Loved the cows wandering past the house, and the big garden. We were in a good location for visiting some of the more famous sights (e.g. Loch Ness, and Inverness is only about 30 minutes away) although we discovered Reelig Glen on our last day, which is about a five minute drive away and is absolutely gorgeous!Beauly itself is a lovely little town. The people are really friendly, and there are some good shops (e.g. the Co-Op was useful, and there's a nice gift shop, fish n chip shop and a Chinese takeaway!)My one little niggle is that maybe it should be made a bit clearer on the write up for the cottage that although pets are allowed in Castle View, they're only allowed where there isn't carpet - i.e. the utility room and the kitchen. We found this a bit difficult with our pooch, although it was lovely that a doggie bed was provided in the utility room, which we thought was a really nice touch. On the whole, I would happily stay at Castle View again."

"We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage so much so we were only in there a few minutes and we were planning our next stay. The cottage is warm and welcoming and the view is just stunning. It is really well equipped with everything you would need and more. The open fire in the evening is so homely. The location is perfect, only a few miles away from Beauly and yet so peaceful. We sat outside every day and also in the evening. On our last day we were outside and there were 2 raddits playing in the field next to us, then up pops a squrial running along the stone wall in front of the cottage and then there was a pheasant is the other field with the cows, it was great fun to watch. The cows next to us were a delight, we called them our welcoming party. The owners were lovely hosts taking us round their farm, our little boy of 2 years really enjoyed it. Our little boy has a disability and uses a walking frame, the house is so spacious he could use it with ease inside and he loved going out into the garden to play. We would really recommend a stay in this cottage. We loved every second of our stay and are planning our next holiday there."

"I visited with my husband, 3 children(17, 10 and 8) and my parents and had a really good holiday at Glen View. The weather was brilliant so we made full use of the large garden and surrounding area. The house itself was well equipt and spacious and although there were 7 of us, it did not feel cramped in the slightest. There was no wifi but this was not necessarily a bad thing as it got the children out playing together and we were well aware of this fact when we booked the cottage. The location was beautiful although quite far away from local shops/amenities and it did mean quite a bit of travelling for day trips. The location on the Sykes map against the location on google maps was slightly out which caused a bit of confusion when initially finding the cottage and we ended up stopping at Eagle Brae to ask for directions as this is where the map took us to. Once we found the cottage, we were very pleased and had an amazing week."

"Had an amazing week at Birch Lodge. The lodge itself well laid out with everything you would need. Comprised of living area with comfy sofas, dining room table and chairs, kitchen with everything you need - plenty coffee, tea, cleaning products, appliances really easy to use. Loads of cutlery, plates etc. A nice welcome basket of goodies. Both bedrooms were ensuite and supplied with towels of all sizes and bathrobes and plenty of hot fast water.Tv in livingroom freesat and worked fine. Plenty of leaflets of nearby trips and tourist attractions. Hot tub on the decking really lovely. The location of the lodge brilliant and the owner Willie - a really nice man and always on hand if you needed anything - and his Dog always visited and really friendly and a visit to see his chickens and ducks and a nice few freshly laid eggs.Would recommend 101% and would definately be back again."

"The reason I booked this cottage was for the enclosed garden for my elderly dog who has problems with her hind legs. On arrival there was information stating that dogs were not allowed in the garden and were to be walked outside, which was a struggle for my dog. I have never had this before as I have stayed in various holiday cottages all over Scotland. I think these owners should state that they do not want dogs in their property. Also they were to be in the utility room and not in the house.Very annoyed with the whole thing, this should all be stated in your information before people book this cottage. The money could have been used for another cottage."
