What our customers say about their holidays

    • The A & W families, Chalfort St Peter - Verified booking

Guest accommodation is a fantastic location. The children loved the large garden and nearby play park. Had a really good meal at the Red Lion in Lacock the day of arrival. Don and I managed a couple of runs through the lanes, made challenging by the hill. Horse and Groom was welcoming and child friendly for drinks(did not have the chance to eat). Trip by train to Bath was a highlight especially with a visit to Victoria Park with it's huge adventure playground. The weather was extremely kind, T-shirts and shorts at times in late October!!! In summary, an excellent week in a fantastic home with all the amenities you could wish for. Thanks.

We have just spent a long weekend at The Old Stables. What a fantastic house - spacious, very clean, well equipped for every eventuality, lovely location. We would definitely recommend it. The only thing that let us down was the local pub doesn’t do food on a Monday night. We had looked on the website to make sure, walked up there in the rain and cold and no food. When we mentioned the website the barmaid said the landlord ‘doesn’t really do social media’! We had to go back out in the car to get dinner - very disappointing. That was the only negative thing about the weekend, we had a wonderful family get-together - we will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay at The Old Stables. Information prior to our stay was accurate and timely. We found everything as anticipated. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated. The house was clean and had been prepared for our needs. The beds were comfortable. We were able to enjoy BBQs, kitchen suppers and family meals as the house had everything that you could need. As we were staying during a period of unusually high temperatures some fans would have been a very welcome addition to everything that was already provided although this would not normally be necessary. Many thanks

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Stables. Information prior to our visit was very helpful. Lovely, secluded cottage with great views. It was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was very well equipped. We stayed with a baby, so it was great that travel cot and highchair were provided. Location was great too, easy to get to Bath, Longleat and Castle Combe. The only small niggles were that the beds were not very comfortable, one of the ovens wasn’t working and there were lots of flies at the windows. Otherwise it was great, would highly recommend!
