"Although I can sometimes be a little too critical on reviews it has to be acknowledged that this is the best ever self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. From its outstanding location perched on the hillside overlooking the bay and hills to the facilities and amenities within the cottage we could not find fault. The property itself is very spacious with good sized rooms throughout and well designed. It has all the equipment and more to ensure an excellent stay and make it the perfect home from home. The little things like the ornaments, artefacts and paintings make for a homely feel whilst relaxing .... nothing better than looking out over the bay from the patio doors with a glass in hand. The cottages location gives good access to tour the local area,South to Dornoch and Dunrobin castle,North to John o Groats and Wick and even further afield to Durness and cape wrath are all within reach. We both thoroughly enjoyed our week away at this cottage as did our dog who was able to roam freely in the large fenced in secure garden. We were also fortunate with the weather so had no complaints at all . The village of Helmsdale is about a twenty minute walk away along the main road and our only slight disappointment was that the village itself did not have a lot to offer. However in summary this is a property which is well worth considering if you are looking for a relaxing break in excellent, clean ,well cared for and spacious accommodation and we will certainly consider using it again in the future...To be recommended"

"From the moment we reached the gates of S80476 we all drew in our breaths, and our dog, Rosie, started to whimper desperately to explore the garden. What a magical place on a hilltop in Navidale! Unforgettable scenery that seems to float to infinity. We didn’t see the dolphins that many previous tenants have had the privilege to encounter, which was a little disappointing, but this did not ruin our enjoyment. S80476 is a peaceful, tranquil place where you really can get away from it all. Sitting on the bench in the front garden and staring out to sea was so relaxing and a sight appreciated by our Rosie, too. It was her daily ritual with the French doors open, a soft breeze blowing in through the lounge. She absolutely loved it. S80476 had everything to offer in the way of quiet, peace, beauty, relaxation, entertainment and was well-stocked with household items needed for daily use. The cottage is well kept, clean and in a perfect location. Our thanks to Frank for all his advice before we arrived and his approachable manner if we needed anything during our stay. Five stars!"

"S80476 was an excellent choice for our holiday;its location, accessibility, comfort and excellent standard of cleanliness were of the highest order in meeting our requirements. The quality of the fixtures and fittings in all the rooms was exceptional and we could find nothing that would have made our stay any better. Excellent outside space. The views were spectacular with beautiful S80476s and views across the bay and out to sea. Good location for exploring further afield and up and down the coastline were many quaint harbours bringing you right down to the sea edge.Lots of wildlife visiting the garden every day; loved the family of deer who were regular nightly visitors. Local pubs and restaurants serving good local produce and many places of interest in the region for us to visit."

"We've taken a week's holiday in various highland cottages for the last 6 years, the last 3 in the Brora and Helmsdale areas. S80476 cottage is one of, if not, the best. The view from the cottage is spectacular and the cottage itself has all the necessities you need for a home from home. There was a basket of logs for the burner, which we didn't actually use, but was a nice touch. We covered a few of the trails including the Helmsdale circuit which, although overgrown in places, is still worth the walk. Isla, our eight year old Weimaraner, loved everywhere we went and we knew she was safe around the cottage because of the enclosed garden.Thank you Kathy and Frank for the use of your beautiful cottage."

".. Hazel and Morris made us feel so welcome , bonus of scones, cakes and jam ... Yummy ! Great location and we did Route 500 ..There was everything we'd have expected and more besides. There were even some delightful home made cakes left for us to enjoy. Fantastic. Our only suggestion would be to include wificottage we had a lovely welcome from Hazel when we arrived with a welcome ray of homemade scones & jam etc .Hazel and hubbie Morry were very informative of the areas around Dunbeath and further which was a great help .We hope to be back to Grannys cottage sooner than later. S9637 is an ideal base fore touring north east and west of Scotland"
