"Love love love Holy Island. Such a great place small compact and bijou. Beware at this time of year that many places maybe closed when the tide is in. We loved this part of the island. The Crown & Anchor became our favourite haunt great staff with good food and drink too.The cottage was ideally located but needs to be updated somewhat. TV didn’t work, DVD did, WiFi only worked in bathroom. For us this wasn’t too much of a problem as we roamed the island with Malcolm the chocolate lab who loved it. This would not be ideal if we had the teenage daughters with us.The cleaner needs to learn how to clean. Cobwebs in every room and this is the middle of winter. Plates chipped and some still dirty in the cupboards.Would we go back yes we would. Might come as a surprise to many reading this but it is a magical island if you love remoteness going for long walks and not seeing anyone. Beach about five miles long and only my wife, Malcolm and myself on it.Amazing"

"After looking for somewhere to stay whilst working away, and spending lots of time in hotels. I noticed S14501 whilst searching and was surprised to see the price was around the same as hotels near by. Being Vegan I always struggle to find hotels that can provide me with food I can eat, so being able to cook my own food was a massive plus. The kitchen was well equipped for cooked although some of the utensils needed cleaning before use. The cottage was very spacious and the bedrooms and bathroom very clean. The living space could have been cleaner as lots of crumbs and old food on the carpets and under the sofas. Very close to a local Asda and other shops, so nipping out to pick up anything was easy. Overall I had a very good experience at S14501. The minor cleanliness issue twinned with the heating not being on for my arrival which left the house very cold for the first night, are the only issues I have. I would definitely stay here again."

"The cottage is ON the A1, but once inside the cottage the road noise is minimal. The cottage is SO welcoming for dogs, the owners had thought of Everything a dog & dog owner could need. The property is safe for dogs having an enclosed garden. Our dogs were small terriers & would have found the smallest gap to 'escape', but we never had any problems. The Kitchen had just about everything you could possibly need, all in very good condition, however we did find a lack of storage space for our food.It had a large window with a wonderful view of the countryside & distant coast. You can just about see Bamburgh Castle & Holy Island with binoculars. The Lounge & 2 bedrooms were very comfy & warm . The Bathroom clean & bright & the Shower very easy to use.The owners could not have been more friendly & extremely helpful making our holiday one to remember with utmost pleasure."

"We had a lovely time at S59195, the cottage is lovely and in such a great location. We felt really comfortable there and settled in the minute we arrived. Everything was wonderful, but if I was nit-picking I would suggest the following:The key to the front door doesn't work from outside (I had to call the office and get someone to let me in as I only took that key with me). Not really a problem, but either need to mention it only locks from inside or repair the lock. The bathroom is lovely but a little cold - either a larger radiator or a large towel rail would be good in there. These are really only minor things that certainly didn't spoil our holiday - oh maybe just one more thing - if you could make sure the sun is shining if we visit again! xx"

"This cottage is a beautiful gem in the centre of Alnwick and located well for exploring further inland and the stunning Northumberland coastline. A last minute ‘get away’ brought us to S59195 and we did not want to leave - an eclectic mix of vintage and modern made for a cosy, comfortable and chic base for us to visit what the area had to offer. Everything had been thought of to make our stay as comfortable as it could be with a bit extra too!We would highly recommend this cottage for both short and long stay breaks. We will certainly be returning.Thank you for our introduction to Northumbria; we couldn’t have asked for more :)"
