"Place was dirty and needed cleaning before anything could be done, cups were filthy, scrap heaters and an old high chair at the side of the property, dog poo all over the rear lawn that had not been mowed in weeks. some wierd outbuilding full of rubbish at the rear. Garden isnt secure if you have that kind of dog.We got there eventually (apalling directions) to find the key left in the door and all the heaters off, place was freezing and no instructions for use, literally nothing at all. No WiFi despite constantly complaining about it. The shower drain blocked on the 2nd day, flooding the bathroom and nearly the bedroom. nothing was done despite reporting it numerous times. Fortunately I'm a plumber so I sorted it, clogged with everything you can put down a drain. vile. I could however do nothing to help the moving toilet, I could have walked out with it, it's that loose!! The new heaters are good at keeping you awake with the brightest blue LED glow I've ever seen. Didn't need the lights at night, so bright! Guess how I slept...... and the old one has 0 instructions and a mind of its own.By far the most concerning part has to do with the safety equipment in the property. It is there to keep you safe if the worst should happen and is a legal requirement. The fire blanket looks like it's been used and folded back up and stuffed into its box, then turned upside down to ensure it stays put. Then there's the the in case of fire poster, obscured by tat and not visable. But by far the best is the fire extinguisher, its not been checked in 20 years and has zero pressure in it. if anything happened youd lose everything and have no insurance coverage. (All of the above I have photographic evidence of this as I literally couldn't make any of this up.)On the plus side the hot tub was a very welcome (and clean) addition.Local amenities are good, having a morrisons nearby and tesco and M&S food close also, so whatever food you want is close at hand. Not that you can cook in the kitchen, there's more prep space on a playing card. Ready meals only kind of kitchen in reality. Ive stayed in smaller places with better designed kitchens. The place was origanlly designed to be wheelchair friendly, then that builder got fired, as the place has a walk in shower, lower lightswitches and ramps but nothing else is geared to this end. its a strange place indeed - the kitchen units are normal height, the furniture is positioned to be completly in the way and the washing machine / dryer are inaccessable to normal humans. The hot tub was really the only saving grace, it did make a big difference to what could have only been as awful place.Booked on a credit card, Thank God. Now ive finally recovered (slept) ill be seeking advice."

"We loved our week's stay at this beautiful cottage, set in stunning surroundings and a perfect home from home to explore all Wales has to offer. The cottage itself was well equipped with all the essentials you could need, clean, tidy and well maintained. The bedrooms were very well furnished and comfortable, our children loved sharing the second bedroom and loved the fact they could look out of the window whilst laying in bed. The gardens were lovely, set in the hill side with breath taking views, a "pirate ship" and the hot tub, raised decking area and a warm and relaxing summer house....... whats not to love!! Whilst the cottage was close enough to the town and shops, we feel the only thing that let it down slightly was how close it was to the road. And whilst it wasn't a main road, at times it could be busy and the traffic noise sometimes annoying, although saying that after a few days we barely even noticed it. The local pub was warm, welcoming and served a nice pint. The local shops were perfect, with everything from your big supermarkets to smaller village shops, fish and chips shops, petrol stations and places to eat and drink. We feel the cottage was brilliant value for money and we will definitely be back."

"What a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. We arrived 3 hours early and they allowed us in. Cottage was spotless. I read the reviews before hand so was a bit worried but there were no problems at all. They were really welcoming. They spoke to us about what’s on in the area and where to go and as they own the Marina pub on the sea front too we were invited there with a discount for staying in their cottage the food was outstanding. We took our 2 pet dogs the garden was secure and Inclosed. And the whole place was pet friendly they enjoyed it too. After sight seeing it was nothing better to chill out in the hot tub and the summer house outside. We will be returning and I do recommend this cottage to anyone with pets, disabilities or a family get together. It’s very spacious. It even had a cleaning room with a washing machine and dryer so I was able to wash and dry everything before I went home. I’d give it a 5 star rating see you soon"

"When we arrived at S37419 there was an overwhelming smell of fuel oil which was intolerable. I suffer with COPD and Asthma and the fumes were so bad i struggled to breathe. I did contact the owner and he did come that evening and dicovered that the oil fired boiler was leaking in the bathroom area which he could not repair at the time. 24 hours later someone came to look at it again and replaced a leaking tap, but the lagging on the boiler was soaked in oil and so the smell remained. The fumes were all around the house and we had to sleep with all the windows open and it was cold and we could not sleep because the fumes were so strong in the bedroom also. The heater in summerhouse did not work so using the hot tub was ruled out. We left a day earlier because of the fumes and the fact i felt so unwell. Really dissapointed and would expect some money back as i am still getting over the fumes a week after arriving home/"

"Thank you so much for such a warm welcome and the gifts on arrival. Very much appreciated. The cottage is lovely and in a great location for exploring the surrounding area and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. We have all had such a wonderful time, enjoyed Devils Bridge, Borth and Ynys Las beach flying kites with the children. Black Lion, Talybont for food and Ynys Hir Nature Reserve. We also enjoyed the steam train and had a great day out at Dolgoch Falls, stopping at Tal-y-Llyn lake and on the way back visited Aberdovey. Spending time at the cottage has been so relaxing and enjoyed quality time as a family together. We hope to come back!"
