School House is a characterful cottage placed just outside of the lovely Powys market town of Builth Wells. Surrounded by marvellous outdoor opportunities and stunning scenery, this is a fine spot to bring together your loved ones for a break in Mid Wales. When you're not out exploring this wonderful region, put your feet up in the warming, traditional-style living areas on the ground floor. The market town of Builth Wells (Welsh spelling: Llanfair-ym-Muallt) is located in beautiful, unspoilt countryside and makes an interesting base for a Mid-Wales break. Home to interesting craft stores and many collectors’ fairs, this is also the ideal location for walking, pony trekking and mountain biking. The town offers a challenging 18 hole golf course, a sports centre, and the Wyeside Arts Centre, which includes a cinema as well as many live shows. Across the River Wye lies the Royal Welsh Showground, home to the famous Royal Welsh Show, which brings an explosion of colour to the town every July, along with many other events taking place throughout the year. With the spa town of Llandrindod Wells just 8 miles away, and the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park and spectacular Black Mountains within easy reach, this wonderful location is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts or those just wishing to relax amidst wonderful scenery. Builth Wells is an excellent base offering a gateway into Wales.

However, for us personally as dog owners it was completely unsuitable, the garden which was a good size, hadnât been mown, consequently the grass was literally a foot high, but most importantly there was inadequate fencing, leaving the whole garden open to the main road, as a result our dogs could not enjoy the garden as it was unsafe to let them off the lead. The provision of some garden furniture would have been nice in addition to the picnic bench which was located to the rear of the house in the shade next to the school.

Thanks for the welcome hamper.We really enjoyed our stay and it was ideal for us as we were competing with lambs at the RWAS winter Fair looking forward as we rebooked to come and stay next year 2024.Thankyou

Road traffic did not disturb us due to thick walls. Great location close to shops but nice and peaceful. Brilliant area for outdoor activities. Only downside was the dire standard of cleanliness A superficial clean had evidently been done but the property was generally very dirty, with thick accumulations of dust and hair underneath and behind furniture, and on other surfaces. It was difficult to clean the property ourselves to an acceptable standard as there was no hoover or mop. We'd have liked to have been able to clean up after ourselves during our stay even if the property had been cleaned properly before we arrived. We did not report these problems during our stay. Reading other reviews of the property highlighting issues with cleanliness suggested to us that it was not likely that the property would be cleaned properly for us anyway. It's a shame the property was so dirty as it was otherwise very good. I would have highly recommended the property if it was clean.
