"Disappointing .....We have stayed at many self catering holiday homes, our initial impression was that hospitality was not up to the normal standards. We recommend the owners review their welcoming....A bottle of wine, some local produce, bread, butter and sometimes we have had local jams.We got 2 slices of very tasty cake...good.....a few packets of tea coffee and drinking chocolate. Milk....And a bowl of fruit...that was it.No toiletries ...most unusual....Not a flower in the place....I also considered the tone of what to do before you leave a little condescending Plus I have never stayed anywhere I have had to strip the beds.I recommend our hosts do more homework and go and experience an excellent holiday rental. The paintwork particularly around the Windows needed attention. The entrance porch had not been swept for a long time...neither had the back porch.Apart from that it was fine...."

"Charming cottage in a wonderful location. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped with appealing furnishing. Although ‘in the middle of nowhere’ being a National Trust property there is the benefit of a house to visit, a café across the Courtyard and wonderful grounds to walk in. Extremely peaceful after hours. We found a good choice of dog friendly pubs to eat in and an invaluable co-op in a nearby village. There are several art and craft studios to tempt you to part with your money and even courses to attend ( which was the purpose of our stay and excellent ). Beware of enormous potholes in roads nearby. The worst I’ve seen anywhere. I’d recommend this cottage and have already booked again so that I can attend another art course in this very special setting!"

"We recently stayed at Swallow Barn and our whole group loved it! We particularly liked the cosy feel even though it is a large property and the swimming pool. The owner was on hand for anything we needed and was very helpful. Personally we would have appreciated more showers, there are plenty of bathrooms but only one with a proper shower. Our group are all shower lovers so we had to have a rota or use the hand showers in the baths. This is personal preference but worth knowing if you are thinking of going to Swallow Barn. Generally it is in very good condition and the decor is fabulous. We did find some areas which could do with a deep clean but appreciate it is in the country. That said we all had a fabulous time and would stay again."

"The cottage was lovely especially the spacious beamed living/dining area. The double bed was extremely comfortable, in fact one of the best I've ever slept in. The interiors of two of the kitchen cupboards needed cleaning and there were a few cobwebs in corners but otherwise it was neat and tidy. A plastic chopping board would be a good idea as the glass one was not at all practical. The wood-burning stove was very welcome. There weren't any leaflets for local attractions as you would expect to find, only a list which was very inaccurate as far as the distance to Oxford is concerned. It was given as 35.4 miles whereas it's actually about 15 miles away and one of the main reasons for booking the cottage!"

"This is a fabulous place for a holiday. The barn has been converted really well and is comfortable and homely, with lots of character and plenty of space for a large family group. It has the best equipped kitchen of any cottage we've stayed at...no shortage of pans, cutlery, chopping boards, crockery, glasses etc.The pool is small but great fun and the kids enjoyed the selection of games and playing pool and table football. Nice garden area outside. The owners live next door. It's a quiet spot in a tiny hamlet with countryside views. There's lots of nice pubs and restaurants nearby and lots of places to visit...it's about 30 minutes drive to Warwick or Stratford.Definitely recommend this place."
