About this property

Quaker Cottage, a charming, three-bedroom abode is the perfect family-friendly escape, resting in the heart of Milton-Under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire. Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Quaker Cottage is conveniently set near amenities and attractions, whilst resting in a tranquil and beautiful part of the county, offering the best of both worlds. After parking up upon the shared driveway, take in the pretty garden that’s on offer, dotted with blooms and shrubs of lavender, the perfect space for alfresco mealtimes together. Step indoors and make your way into the open-plan living space, complete with a fully-equipped kitchen, a dedicated dining area, and a plush seating area, looking out towards the garden. On chillier evenings, snuggle up in the living/dining room, adorned with antique furniture and the warming glow of the gas fire setting the scene, before completing your nightly routine in the ground-floor bathroom. When night falls, you can rest in one of the three bedrooms; a king-size and two singles, all thoughtfully presented with traditional furnishings. Start your itinerary locally in Milton-Under-Wychwood, a charming village surrounded by rolling hills, boasting a selection of local eateries and pubs, including The Hare. Venture down to magnificent Burford, the gateway to the Cotswolds, where you can explore the selection of independent boutiques, galleries, tea rooms and antiques, or for a spot of culture, take a short drive to the stunning market town of Chipping Norton, home to the Theatre and Cotswold Museum. Whether you’re looking to explore the beautiful countryside, towns and villages of Oxfordshire or simply relax, Quaker Cottage has something for everyone.

Also nearby is the St Nicholas Church, which is the resting place of the designer of the Forth Rail Bridge, Sir Benjamin Baker. The cottage was lovely, especially the garden room. It's a great place if you want to get away from it all and it was so quiet in the night which is just what we needed. The toilet was listed as being downstairs which is fair but a bit of pain going downstairs in the middle of the night especially with the stairs being very steep (we are a mobile couple so didn't effect us but we were conscious about being careful). The 'bionic toilet' was interesting and great to have a warm seat! We would definitely return again if we wanted another holiday in the Cotswolds.
