What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Bassenthwaite To Rent.
DEBRA - verified booking
"The photos were misleading as the garden view belongs to next door and people in this garden have view into the sitting room and block window view The garden for the tootsie was not shown and accessed through the neighbours property and has No privacy Basic cleaning was ok but appreciate an old property but cobwebs dead spiders in bathroom and lounge obviously been there a while.TV very difficult to use so used dvd and poor quality sound to point of annoying. Parking quite unclear as no designated area so had other people’s cars outside cottage and we had to park on narrow unlitlane about 50 metres away Cottage very quaint and well equipped kitchen and stunning view provided neighbours not in the garden ."

"If you are looking for a secluded off the beaten track cottage, S85188 is perfect. It is a comfy, warm and tastefully decorated cottage with lots of history to read about the owners and Ireby Grange. The private rear gardens and private woods are great for dog walking and exploring. A short walk from the cottage are great views over the Solway Firth to Scotland. No amenities to hand just 2 other cottages, farms and Binsey Fell behind. A good mile and a half walk to nearest pub so cater accordingly. We had a lovely holiday and would stay again and highly recommend."

"This was a perfect base for our Christmas and New Year break walking the fells. The location is peaceful and quiet. The nearest pub, Emily's Black Lion in Ireby, is only a mile and a bit and is a lovely old, friendly, proper pub. The food is great and good value and landlord is really friendly and helpful - he even offered to take us back to the cottage on New Year's day! Within (6 miles or so) is the nearest town for shopping for groceries and less expensive than Keswick. All in all we were very satisfied with our stay and we plan a return in the near future."

"Fantastic location, fantastic property. Everything you could want for a quite holiday, lovely artifical light free nights to gaze into the night sky. Close to Keswick to get everyday essentials and close enough to the Lakeland hills for a good days walk. The owners were very freindly and nice bottle of wine and cake awaided our arrival. The only downside was having to leave, and drive back south on the M6, all the way I was praying that Kim Jong-un had pressed the button and blown my town into the next century, but sadly it was not to be........"

"Unusual being located in a ruin (The Grange). Highlight was seeing a red squirrel whilst having breakfast. Beds comfy. Rooms are very dark due to the lack of windows, mostly miniature.Wi-Fi varies between pathetic and non-existent. Thick walls effectively prevent mobile phone signal. It had not had a proper clean for some time, which we reported during our stay. Given the number of journeys we made to / via Keswick we should have stayed there again.Nearby Emily's Black lion pub has excellent food and is VERY doggy friendly."
