Thanks to the house s location in Dubwath, near Bassenthwaite Lake, you can enjoy waterside wanders and leave the car at home. If it s a hot day, jump in for a refreshing dip before you continue your stroll. Whilst enjoying the sights and the tranquillity, keep your eyes peeled for osprey. Make the 6 mile trip to Mirehouse and Gardens, where you can follow the Rhododendron Walk and visit the lakeside church of St Bega. If there are any keen golfers on your party, Cockermouth Golf Club is less than 2 miles from your door and has lovely greens. This part of the lakes is quickly growing as a go to destination for foodies with many delicious independent restaurants in easy reach, including the award wining Bassenthwaite Lake Station café. Step inside the entrance hall which leads to a handful of useful rooms: a drying room for coats and boots, a laundry with washer/dryer, and a WC. Head up to the first floor and reach the bright kitchen, which has a quirky sloping ceiling, dishwasher, microwave, fan oven and induction hob. There is also space next to the gates for other cars to park on the road. Although infants are welcome, neither of the bedrooms are large enough for a travel cot and no cots or highchairs are provided a Moses basket or similar will fit.
