"Really lovely very small cottage with loads of character. We particularly loved cosy evenings with the log burner going. Supplied with pretty much everything you need and a lovely welcome hamper of local goods. Picturesque village with pub very close and walks. Close to Burford and Witney. Enclosed back garden backing onto fields, altho you have to go down a little path from the back door and this has a gap out to the driveway and thus the road. However we kept the driveway gate closed and took a metal dog barrier to block the path exit and it was therefore ok for our young dog to run around in (supervised). Very dog friendly in general. As the description says the stairs are VERY steep and narrow, I did slip down, but in future I was more careful and held on to the ropes provided! Two bathrooms downstairs and upstairs which was great. Lovely kitchen. Cozy lounge and dining room. Walks from the door. Highly recommend. By the way the Cotswold Wildlife Park was amazing and very dog friendly, we can't wait to go back."

"Excellent and cosy place to spend a quiet week and, if you have the urge, somewhere from which you can take off and explore Oxford and the surrounding area. Every piece of equipment worked except the security key holder which would not close, and one portable heater, even though I replaced the fuse in its plug. Combined CD player and radio also a bit of a mystery! A really good feature is the open hearth and the chance to have a fire - logs were supplied but if you want more go to B and Q or Homebase just down the road into Abingdon after the A34 interchange. Best local pub is the Merry Miller at Cothill - good food and drink and log fires. Beware of a very busy road just beyond the lane on which the Cottage stands. Cars are driven at well over the 40 MPH limit supposedly in force. Not easy for pedestrians. Information left for visitors very thorough."

"Shamrock Cottage is beautiful and the location is amazing. We've just returned from a four night stay and would certainly like to think we'll return. The cottage was lovely and clean, the decor was great and the beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept on. We also really appreciated the welcome supplies that were left for us. Parking was not an issue and we were there on a bank holiday which a local told us was the busiest day they had this year. It is a short, and very pleasant walk up to the car park, and there are also parking spaces out the front where we could usually get a space in the evening. Our days included trips to the beautiful towns of Stow, Moreton in Marsh, Cirencester and we had the most beautiful walk from the cottage up to Lower and Upper Slaughter - stunning! The rest of the time we enjoyed Bourton itself and felt very lucky."

"Chub locks but only one key, so if one of us went out and one stayed in, one of us was either locked in or locked out, or the house was left unlocked, when one of us was sleeping for example, absolutely ridiculous.Bed in main bedroom very very very creaky, we had to sleep in separate beds so we didn’t disturb each other. No corkscrew or bottle opener.I’m not tall, but had to crouch or sit in Bath as shower head too low.Several bulbs not working on arrival, we found replacements but these should be dealt with on changeover.Overall we felt the cottage showed signs of owners a long way away, which they are (in USA), and a not especially ‘invested’ handover person. Do the owners know there is only one key, do they know about the bed, do they know the front door is rotting, do they know the plants are dead or dying in the back patio?"

"A lovely cottage, run by some very friendly people. The cottage is very nice inside and out, and is in driving-distance from lots of nice towns (Broadway, the Slaughters, Stow, Boughton). The cottage is located just a couple of miles from Stow-on-the-Wold - by car, this takes just 5 mins, by foot about 45. Public transport isn't great in the area, so I'd say having a car is a must - there are taxis, but you need to book in advanced, and a taxi between the cottage and Stow is £12. The Wifi worked very well."
