"S75463 is a beautiful and comfortable property, spacious and very well equipped and appointed. Very nice touches, like toiletries, dressing gowns, slippers, and a nice food parcel including bottles of prosecco and beer. Naomi (the owner) visited the evening we arrived and was quick to address a couple of minor issues such as light bulbs not working and the washing machine door which had been broken by the previous tenants (it was already booked for repair, and indeed was repaired the day after we arrived). I only have a couple of minor niggles; one was a lack of storage in some of the bedrooms (eg. no drawer space) which seemed odd given that the rooms were all easily large enough to accommodate a chest of drawers! Also, in the kitchen, the crockery/glass/cutlery supply was more than ample, but we did note a lack of large pans, which was strange given that the house sleeps 16. The largest saucepan was only just big enough for one packet of pasta. There was a large heavy wok and some Le Creuset cookware but none of this could be used on the induction hob, only the Aga, and it was very heavy to lift. Minor issues though - it's a lovely property and I'm sure anyone holidaying there will have a great week!We visited the nearby pub (Lydd Arms) a couple of times including once for dinner. They were very friendly, although because we were such a big group we had to pre-order our food 1-2 days which took a bit of organisation."

"Plenty of room. Lots of cutlery, crockery etc. Very little storage in bedrooms. One bedroom had a stand with hangers and a couple of baskets. An upstairs bedroom just had hooks. We left lots of things in our suitcases. It did feel as we were living in someone's home as there was lots of personal things in drawers and on units. The fridge and freezer had the owners food in. We were invited to use any of the dry goods and drinks on the drinks trollley. There was an honesty box to be used by guests. This may be a positive for a lot of people but we felt as if we were intruding.Lovely shower in the downstairs bedroom. Two sitting rooms, one without a TV which was ideal, so there was a choice of sitting and chatting or watching TVThe house was certainly big enough, plenty of parking for two cars, easy to drive to places around and about.Garden chairs and lounges provided which we used at the end of the day. The owners had left Bird seed, so we filled the feeders and enjoyed watching the birds. There's a small Spar shop a couple of minutes walk away. This has all the basics you'd need and a cash machine."

"Beautifully converted farm building. Tastefully furnished and decorated with a lovely spacious open plan sitting/ dining/ kitchen. Outdoor areas scruffy with rickety cafe style chairs and folding table. What really lets S17499 down though are the bedrooms. The downstairs twin and ground floor wet room are of the standard you would expect however upstairs the bedrooms lack headroom and two of them are accessed by a small wobbly spiral staircase and lack privacy owing to them not having a door or being fully open to the reception room below. Another twin upstairs had no full height space at all and no opening window - hard to see how it could be classed as a habitable bedroom. Our six foot tall boys really struggled. We felt that the property was very over-priced given the bedroom accommodation. The upstairs bathrooms were tight and it wasn’t possible to stand up straight in the shower. All this could be classed as quirky and characterful had we not paid a five star rent for the week."

"We had a great time staying here - the house itself was lovely but we had an issue with the heating and hot water because a gas delivery hadn't arrived. Had this not been the case we would have scored this a 10 overall. The owner was fantastic and did everything they could to get us hot water, even to the extent of buying us extra kettles so we could give the toddlers their baths a bit easier (instead of boiling water in the kitchen and running it upstairs). They gave us extra wood for the fires as well and it really did feel like they did everything they possibly could to sort the issue. We intend to go back to either this house or one of the owner's other houses though as they were lovely, large and very well equipped. There is also a pool table and table football in the courtyard which I think is missing from the description on this site and probably should be added in!"

"A well presented comfortable cottage with excellent amenities. For us the main problem was the proximity of the road with very fast traffic. If this problem were to be resolved then we would stay again. Unfortunately the garden, though enclosed is not Dog proof, especially for an inquisitive terrier. The outlook from the conservatory is marred by dilapidated fencing and gate to left of the property. The cottage would benefit from a welcome/information book detailing appliance operating instructions (the hob baffled us for a while), and information about local amenities such as vet, doctor, bus timetable etc..We are sorry these are all negative points, but they are not complaints but observations based on many years of holiday letting experience. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay."
