Staying in South East

One of the biggest attractions in the south east is the wonderful New Forest. A last minute cottage holiday in the New Forest will offer some fantastic walks around one of the most beautiful areas in the country. Watch out for the wild ponies, and cows that populate the region. For children, Thorpe Park is a fantastic day out in the South East, and is easily reached by either car or train. The South East has some fantastic beaches, and Snaptrip has many properties close to the seaside. With stunning beach towns such as Hastings, Brighton and Whitstable, the South East can claim with some justification to be just as blessed with beaches as the more commonly visited South West. The landscape is filled with castles, cathedrals and of course the stunning White Cliffs of Dover, giving you plenty of options throughout the region for your late availability cottage break.

"The location of this property was lovely and would warrant four stars but the property I would only rate as a three star. It was very basic and didn't have the items expected from a four star property. The was no washing up liquid, cleaning cloths or even a tea towel provided. The welcome pack mentioned in the paperwork consisted of a few bits of paper, mostly advertising the properties for the following year and a voucher for the circus! Not a tea bag or jug of milk insite which is the minimum that is normally provided in a welcome pack of a four star property! The TV wasn't adequate for a four star property, there were no bedside draws in the second double bedroom, and there was sand in the shower room when we arrived and a loom band in bed two showing it hadn't been cleaned properly. "This cottage was cosy and everything we asked for. The area around was full of public footpaths and all linked up over miles of countryside. The RAF base down the road wasn’t particularly a distraction, and apart from the odd flight here and there was relatively quiet. There was a supermarket and other shops connected with base but are all part of the town as well and most things can be sought from here. Overall I highly rate this cottage if you want the cosy cottage in a small village with lots of countryside to walk in, plus its not far from the motorway so can be accessed quite quickly. Oct 2011. "A really great house in a good location for the town but...Night time noise from pubs & bars kicking out, and smashing glass as empties are tipped out, does not seem to stop until the early hours, not so bad Mon,Tue,Wed but Thur... Sunday very bad.Morning noise starts again around 6:00 with beer barrels being rolled across overlooked car park.Maybe not so bad in winter with windows closed but in summer a really bad problem. We ended up coming up more tired than when we arrived.Winter, mid week only ?"

"This was a spacious property in a pleasant residential area, with local village shop(s) and pub. There was also a dishwasher and dishwasher tablets were in the cupboard. The kitchen was well equipped and there was washing up liquid etc. However, the hob/cooker hood and oven needed cleaning. I did clean the hob and cooker hood, but draw a line at cleaning the oven! The whole property could do with decorating and a really good clean."
