The property was very cosy and quirky just what we wanted. Very comfortable accommodation, with lots to do nearby including the vineyard, great walks, local shop and a nice local pub within walking distance. We thoroughly recommend a stay here.

It has been sympathetically restored and is similar in many ways to a Landmark Trust property. The host is very helpful and friendly. The property is clean, and well equipped with a good bed, sofa, shower & kitchen equipment (including a Nespresso machine). The stairs are steep - take your time - but the views are wonderful. We did not make it up to the roof terrace this time. There are no street lights in Hambledon, so bring a torch! The Vine is a friendly pub with excellent ales. The local shop has some interesting speciality food items. The Bat & Ball, a couple of miles away, does a tasty Sunday roast and has a lot of cricketing memorabilia. Further afield, Alresford is a lovely town and the Flowerpots at Cheriton is well worth a detour. All in all, The Folly is not your typical holiday cottage. It will appeal to those who like to experience a place which is different to the norm.

Clean and well equipped. Lindy, the owner, was very friendly and on hand if we needed something. The bottle of wine on arrival was much appreciated. The stairs were good exercise. The roof terrace was intetesting with good views over the vilage. Felt like our own castle . In spring/summer it would be great to sit outside and contemplate. We used it to listen to the church bells, that were calling all the villagers for the nine lessons and carols service. The village is friendly, with lots of walks, and a great teashop (highly recommended) . The village shop was well stocked and just down the road. All in all a great location .
