What our customers say about their holidays

    • Paul - Verified booking

The studio and location were lovely but there is no way near enough ventilation in the bedroom and it was so hot it was impossible to sleep, even in temperatures of just 23/24 degrees.

Only because the temperature dropped after our first day to 18 degrees were we able to sleep. The hob would only work on the highest setting. The plug didn't work in the bathroom, there was no egg slice for frying eggs and the TV kept buffering, ie poor reception. It would have been preferable to have a toaster and microwave. The lounge area was cluttered with too many bean bags and there were no hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes and towels on and nowhere to hang clothes anywhere else. WiFi connection was very limited. There was no hand towel in the bathroom and no bathmat so floor got wet when using the shower and slippery. Shower water did not drain well. However, Hungerford Park is lovely and we saw lot of wildlife and the surrounding area was lovely too.

Excellent in every way. There were 6 of us. We enjoyed the home inside and outside with fantastic weather and a beautiful garden and patio attached to a quaint and cozy/comfy home. We used the kitchen as we would at home, making meals and baking scones and cakes.... Fully equipped kitchen. 6 of us there for 8 days made the washer and dryer a blessing too. It was essential to have a car out in the hamlet of Peasemore but what a delightful area. Village folk could not have been friendlier when we went for walks. Some showed us around the church, telling us the history, others directed us to the farm shop for fresh meats and vegetables... Good location to visit other places (Bath, Oxford, Newbury and more). We had an amazing holiday at The Old Post Office.

There was so much to love about the studio, the position, the decoration, good bathroom and kitchen.

But the soap pump in bathroom was empty, we were given two lovely fluffy white bath sheets but no hand towels. In the kitchen, we were left three manky kitchen sponges ( why not just leave one new one). There was no freezer compartment in fridge and literally not one hook in fact anything to hang up any clothes at all. The lounge area was too cluttered for two people, far too much seating, why there were four bean bags as well as a settee and two chairs I am not sure. Somewhere to hang coats and clothes would be great in fact it should be a must. I know this sounds a negative review but we did enjoy our stay and if we were to revisit we would come prepared but hopefully they would sort these minor things out by then.

We had a lovely long weekend.

Kitchen was huge and very well equipped. Great facilities for toddlers...the high chair and stair gates were great and we were left with two huge boxes of toys which was amazing! The grounds are stunning and we had such a lovely time walking round and seeing all the horses (my daughter loved this!). All facilities in the house were great and well thought of and we loved all the art work! The kitchen equipment felt like it needed a good clean which we did as we used it. And in general places needed dusting. But a huge house with lots of character...it didn't feel like a sterile rental which we liked! Would definitely come back and would recommend.

We booked the property for a group of 6 older friends who live apart and wanted to spend some quality time together.

This property was perfect for our needs, in a really quiet location, well equipped, cosy and an ideal space for socialising during chilly November weather. The open plan kitchen and dining area was perfect for lazy breakfasts and to enable us to all socialise even while some of the group were busy cooking. Although the lounge was smaller than we had perhaps anticipated from photographs, it was actually a perfect size for our group. The three double bedrooms were all a good size and very comfortable. We also enjoyed our walk in the grounds in the areas identifed for visitors to enjoy. We would be very happy to make a return visit.
