"This is a lovely bungalow in a great location. Everything is about 40/50minutes away. The front porch is a bit off putting because it is filthy. Cobwebs, leaves, snail shells, it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. We were greatly disappointed that we could not open the patio doors, apparently the keys are lost. It wouldn’t cost much for a replacement. The interior of the bungalow needs updating badly, especially the bathrooms. The shower cubicle is in a bad way, falling to pieces and quite dirty. The kitchen though well equipped needs the baking trays and grill pans getting a deep clean. In the living room the two seater sofa came apart revealing quite a lot of dirt. Manuals for the appliances would be quite helpful, especially the heating system which would only stay on for about an hour. The gardens are lovely but overgrown and needed a cut. The gardener visited while we were there but only tidied up the leaves. We were lucky that we could get out and about because if we had been confined indoors the tv really wouldn’t have been up to scratch, it is quite dated and the internet is not great especially if you have a couple of youngsters playing games and lap tops etc being used. In it’s favour it is walking distance from the local shop and also the pub which is never open during the afternoon it seems. The best thing really is it’s location."

"This was a happy find, we stayed for 2 nights whilst we visited family in the area. All beds made up on arrival, towels and tea towels were all provided, all the basics were there, washing up liquid, washing machine tabs, even cling film, foil and parchment if needed. There's a small freezer in the laundry room where there is a washing machine and a small tumble dryer. Hoover provided in the boiler cupboard, it's a basic home from home, you just need your clothes and wash things. We have two dogs that come everywhere with us and it was lovely to find somewhere to stay that doesn't make you pay extra for them, the garden is enclosed but if you have a small dog remember to blocked the side gate as there's a large gap from the bottom of the gate to the floor, nice to see that there was no little surprises left in the garden as not all dog owners are responsible and clean up after their furry friends. There was bits that you could nit pic at but we were overall very happy at finding this hidden gem, the bungalow is on a small estate but the driveway is slightly off the main rd and its in a very peaceful area."

"This is a large bungalow but as other visitors have mentioned suffers from attention to details. The cheesegrater was rusty, the patio doors had no key (commented on by another visitor a couple of years ago), shower had black sealant which was rather off putting, the furniture was broken and the mugs were stained inside! The grill did not work. The furniture was eclectic, tired and old fashioned but Ok.But....The lounge was big, light and airy and the bathrooms a good size. The bedrooms were spacious and beds were really comfortable with down duvets. Water and heating was very efficient. Garden really was fully enclosed and when we arrived the pear, the apple tree and the vine were laden with fruit although yet to ripen sufficiently for us to savour. I was delighted to see soap left in every bathroom, soap powder and softener for the washing machine, dishwasher tablets and a few tea bags in the caddy to get us going! It is very quiet with lots to do with 30 mins drive and plenty to see 10mins for the bungalow."

"A beautiful cottage where the decor, internal fixtures and fittings and furniture are second to none! All necessary kitchen equipment is supplied, and soft furnishings are excellent. The bed is superior, as are the pillows, sheets and duvet. The bath towels are soft and thick, and there is a hand towel and two tea towels in the kitchen. There were lovely treats in the fridge, as well as other 'extras' to welcome us to the cottage. The surroundings are delightful, with seating facilities outside, and large colourful planters decorating the sizable yard, to the front of the cottage. Very private, with keypad operated entrance gates. The other side of the cottage looked over a small field, where a few sheep grazed. All so peaceful.Only ten minutes away there are shops, and fuel. There are many facilities in Wootton Basset. The cottage is within easy reach of many of the wonderful attractions in the area."

"We stayed at the Lock Keeper's Cottage for a week, we were two adults and two teenagers. The cottage is to a very high standard, well equipped and very clean. More importantly it has bags of character and is very comfortable. I liked the dining area where we had family meals looking out on the countryside. There are two sitting areas, ideal when you need you own space. We did not find the road an issue, it is not particularly busy and there is room to stand and see both ways making crossing over to the car very safe. The cottage is perfectly located with two pubs and a village store just a small walk away up the canal paths. There is a lovely log burning stove, although with under floor heating it was used for its character rather than warmth."
