"It was our 2nd visit to Fanolas barn and as a family of 4 with 2 children the layout of the place was perfect for us again and the fact we like to travel to different places it works well for us and the bedroom with the bigger bed has a lovely comfortable bed which is perfect for me but there were a few little issues this time unfortunately. One was having no internet at all and not being able to access Netflix which was quite difficult when you have a 7 year old and a 4 year old and it is raining for a few days so you can’t go far because the weather is horrible. We did speak to Claire about it towards the end of our stay and she told us unfortunately it is rural there and a lot of people were using the internet at the same time. Maybe this is the case but I feel it should be mentioned in the holiday details so one is able to prepare for this. The other issue I had was the shower it works from a mixer tap and at times the water flow kept changing it would suddenly go very slow and the water would be scolding hot the next the water would gust in so the water temperature would go back to normal so because of this I didn’t attempt to shower the boys as I didn’t want them to get scolded. The other 2 issues are minor but I feel they should be mentioned I requested in my order that I wanted the twin beds zip locked so my 4 year old didn’t fall out of bed unfortunately they weren’t and they were made up as twin beds so we made do and managed to put them together the best we could which was fine. The other thing was the tv remote control was very unpredictable. These last 2 issues with the beds and the tv remote were mentioned in the guest book by the previous bad guest as well but Claire wrote on the guest book near their entry saying they hadn’t requested beds to be zip locked and they should have if that is what they wanted and that the tv control is fine but in our case the same happened to us so maybe there is lack of communication regarding getting these twin beds zip locked. Claire is lovely and if you want her she will be there no problem but I personally don’t like complaining I just prefer to manage but we did mention the internet as it was becoming very annoying and causing us all problems but the other problems we did not mention. On arrival Claire seemed quite annoyed about the previous bad guest she had had and stated that the boys were not to draw on the walls which is fine because I wouldn’t allow it but it did make me feel stressed the whole holiday that the boys didn’t touch anything because I didn’t want to leave it like previous guest. I didn’t personally want to say about the beds and the tv remote to her but I feel you should be aware of it for future guest. Otherwise it is a lovely place to stay and I would go back again."

"Would benefit from addition of a microwave. When trying to find the cottage do not use sat. Nav. The postcode could be any farm in the valley as we experienced. Ask a local for directions. Having said that we hope to return next year.Plenty of walks from the doorstep and close by car to everything Cornwall has to offer. The cottage is next door to a dairy farm and while this was not an issue for us there was quite a fly problem which was a shame and could be sorted out by the owners investing in a few fly traps etc. All in all a lovely cottage. We enjoyed every aspect of our time spent there.Sadly agree with other review. couldn't get door unlocked, no mention of being on a farm, awful fly problem, and really stressfull, terrible one lane road to access property which went on for miles.the satnav took us that way and it was terrible and people should be advised to find a different route. Some form of compensation would be appreciated as it was a 50th birthday surprise which went very wrong, sooo hot and couldn't open doors because of flies. Gutted, first holiday in 15 years.!!!"

"Firstly the directions were very difficult to understand and we got lost, the entrance was not signposted. 1 had chosen Linhay for 3 reasons, it was supposed to have an enclosed garden, a patio and WiFi. The garden was round the side of the cottage, up 4 very unsafe concrete steps AND it was surrounded by privet hedges but my small dog was able to get out. There was no patio and no WiFi. We had to use our own 3G and that used our whole months allowance. Every single wall had damp on it somewhere. The oven was DISGUSTING and unclean. There were no trays that fitted the oven, we had to buy a couple to use. No ovenglove. The bathroom blind was mouldy. There was a fire extinguisher but it was out of date, the servicing hasn’t been kept up. Every carpet was filthy. The heater in the bedroom didn’t work. The fitted sheet on our bed had stains on it, it had not been washed. We took it off and slept on the mattress. I have never been in a holiday let that was as disgusting."

"Very pleasant people , nice location but bed very hard , cooker required new rings , shower leaking , shower curtain mouldy old shower tray needed good clean no basic commodities like salt and pepper ! Cutlery draw mash of bits only one proper tea spoon ! Frying pans bucked with heat ! No comfortable lounger to sit outside just chrome chairs with a small cushion. Jacuzzi not as appeared on pics on line looked like was in a conservatory with a view ?? Found to be in adjacent room to this tucked in a dark corner of extension and certainly wasn't private !! No view at all . Bit of casual attitude to privacy 5 dogs ran straight into apartment and ran through house with little regard to if we liked dogs or not and a cursory remark oh they won't mind !"
