Helston 5.6 miles. A lovely, detached cottage, converted from a cowshed, set in rural surroundings in a working cattle farm, just outside the village of Porkellis and some six miles from Helston. Perfect for couples seeking a relaxing break, The Old Cows House offers warm accommodation that welcomes your return after a day exploring the beautiful West Cornwall. You enter this charming base into the sitting room with dining area, allowing you to unwind before heading to bed. Rustle up a delicious meal in the well-equipped kitchen, which can be enjoyed at the table while you discuss the day’s events and plan for the next. Completing the interior is the double bedroom and wet room with shower, basin and WC. When you wish to explore there are many country walks one of which will take you to Stithians Lake, perfect for watersports, angling and birdwatching. Whether playing on the water or just taking in the views, Wild Vibes Cafe at the lake serves up excellent food catering for all dietary needs. Venture slightly further afield to the bustling coastal town of Falmouth, with many beaches and tranquil creeks and easy access to golf courses, tropical gardens and the coast-to-coast cycle trail. Cruise the beautiful landscape and scenic waters of the River Fal and its surrounding creeks, or fancy catching your supper or just going on a fishing trip then Falmouth is the perfect place to do this.

St Michaels mount is an historic castle, garden and island off the coast of Marazion, it can be reached either by boat or along the causeway of granite sets, passable between mid tide and low tide

Isles of Scilly by helicopter or boat, these amazing islands are close enough to visit for the day.Theatre lovers will want to visit the famous Minack Theatre, a spectacular open air theatre perched on the Cornish cliffs, here you may even get to see the dolphins jumping the waves during a performance.

Padstow made famous by Rick Stein over the last 30 years there is much more to Padstow than just great places to eat.

The Eden Project is a world renowned experimental garden which has become a must see attraction in Cornwall along with The Lost Gardens of Heligan near the village of Mevagissey. On the north coast you can explore the abundance of old engine houses and relics of the tin mining history of Cornwall. You might also run into the lovely coves and sheltered beaches along the stretch of coast from Porthleven to Penzance, giving you so much to see and do. This cottage makes for a unique holiday destination, any time of year.

Resting on the western gateway of the Lizard Peninsula is the thriving market town of Helston. Visitors can enjoy visiting the Museum of Cornish Life to learn about the local area, or venture to the nearby Flambards Theme Park for a day filled with fun in the sun. The town enjoys access to Loe Bar beach and Carminowe Creek, where visitors can sunbathe on the soft sands, before returning to the town for a bite to eat at one if its several eateries.

    Cream tea and bottle of wine waiting for us on arrival ( very generous portion ) Peacefull setting ,beautiful surroundings.. 4 legged friends to great you daily ( cows and dogs ) Accessible for people with mobility related issues ,just one small issue for us was the sofa very low but very comfortable ( had trouble getting up from it ) Bed very comfortable, kitchen well equipped ... Read instruction on how to get to property as we took the wrong lane ..

    The property is wonderfully peaceful and with superb views over farmland. As others have said a shelf in the bathroom would be nice, other than that, perfect. We hope to return.

    He had everything I could possibly need. I peace and quiet and was able to walk my dog around the area because the hosts realise I had and they let me go no problem even though it’s working. Farm , I would definitely definitely stay there again no questions asked absolutely would recommend it
