"I was slightly nervous driving to our holiday cottage due to the area being built up with mostly industrial estates. It wasn't the beautiful Cornish scenery I was dreaming of for our holiday retreat. I was more than pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the house. You could not imagine that this beautiful house, was nestled away and all modern day buildings disappeared and did not affect any of the stunning views. The owner, Jane, met us at the house. She was warm, hospitable and friendly and showed us around the house. She had even laid out a beautiful Cornish cream tea for our arrival. The house is beautiful, full of character and lovingly restored. It was extremely clean and well equipped. The beds we very comfortable and bed linen and towels wee provided. I would more then recommend Pengwithor, we will certainly be returning"

"We spent 2 weeks at mowie and had a lovely time. We didn't realise how small Cornwall is, and therefore easy to get about! All towns were a relaxing drive away, with lots of beaches within 15min. Most were inaccessible for me though as they were too steep or had lots of steps to negotiate. The owner Tina can point you to the flat ones, as she is really friendly and informative. She told us to drive to St Erth and take the scenic train to St Ives, which is lovely! St Ives is also very hilly so be warned! In all we had a great holiday at mowie, so settled we spent a few days at home at the barn barbecuing sampling the local cider, wonderful!"

"We have recently visited this little cottage in Porthtowen and were really impressed. The cottage allows dogs and was one of the main reasons we stayed here. But it was very dog and child friendly. The owners lives next day however we only saw them once or twice but could pop round of we wanted more eggs. There was fresh flowers on arrival, eggs and even emergency dog food! The place was very clean and has a 2 car drive. The only down side is that nothing is really walkable to get to. Porthtowen is about a 2-3 mile drive and has a lovely beach. But you do have to drive to get to places. Would defiantly stay here again!"

"Picked this cottage as it was far enough from town to be quiet but close enough to the A30 to be able to get to other attractions easily, it is also all on one floor! The cottage is well maintained, comfortably furnished, spotlessly clean and fully equipped. The owners live onsite and we found them welcoming and available without being intrusive. Tina told us that her aim was to create a home for home, she has more than been achieved We would have no hesitation in booking this property again if going to this part of Cornwall.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"

" Very small cottage so it was very hard to get in shower (there was some reference to this in the listing but it is very awkward), storage heaters weren’t giving out enough heat so it felt chilly, mattress on double bed very soft and gave us both back ache. Some small things missing from kitchen like salt and pepper, tin foil, hand soap. Double bedroom very dated. We had a nice holiday in Portreath though and I think the owners could easily rectify things. Thanks "
