"From the moment we arrived following the clear instructions, Jean welcomed us to the cottage. She even had a traditional cream tea and big pot of tea for us. The cottage is set in a very quiet peaceful location but is within easy driving distance of local amenities and the beautiful south Cornwall fishing villages. The cottage sits in a large sloping garden which the kids loved. An atmospheric old track leads to the top of the Sibleyback dam within a 15 minute walk. The inside of the cottage is characterful and well appointed. The bathroom and kitchen are modern and have all the utensils and mod cons that make a holiday easier for everyone. The beds deserve a special mention and with the comfort and peace and quiet I slept the best I have done on any holiday I can remember. Jean put out some cushions on the front seating area when we were out on our first day and watching the local bats and listening for the owls in the quiet surroundings was joyful. The cottage is lively, the surroundings so peaceful and Jean is the perfect host being there if she is needed but not intrusive. It really felt like we were staying with an old friend. We will definitely return."

"The cottage was just the job for two people. Comfortable, reasonably equipped and roomy enough. The place was spotless and the mattress was firm which suited us. The shower was adequate but was tricky to get right and not very powerful. The hotel it is attached to was quite old fashioned which you will either like or not. We didn’t eat there so cannot comment on the food. The surrounding grounds were lovely. The location is quite a bit out of Falmouth but a taxi is less than a tenner and there is a bus 5 minutes walk away. Also 15 minutes away is a great pub. Good food, busy and very friendly. A shop too so what more do you need? This is a good place and I recommend it. If you’re into dogs you can bring them. If you’re not then the slight doggy smell might be slightly off putting. But it went over a couple of days (or we got used to it) so not a show stopper. The price is ok. You get what you pay for and I’d happily repeat the experience. We had a lovely time. Hope this review helps."

"I normally do not complain about many things at all. In this instance I shall make an exception however. We arrived at the cottage to find that the log fire was still full of ashes from the previous letting, the log basket was full of waste including and empty bag of coal. The paving on the way into the main entrance is lose and makes an awful racket as you cross into and out of the property. As you go into the cottage the floor tiles are loose and insecure, i lifted one out.The cooker was dirty and & my wife had to clean it before we could use it.The garden was beautiful and very well looked after, it was very secure and our dogs could roam freely and with no worry. The location is ideal right on the edge of Bodmin Moor, you are ideally placed to be within a short distance of many of Cornwall's amazing attractions. It is a real shame that the cottage is not looked after the same way as the garden because it has the potential to be a very nice letting but needs a lot more TLC.Pete"

"My heart belongs to Cornwall and especially West Pentire already so to find this gem of a holiday cottage is such great news! The cottage is clean and modern and has a lovely little sun trap of a patio which is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine. Manor Cottage is also located next to Cbay for incredible food and drinks with a fab view and also next to Bowgie for a relaxed pub environment. This cottage is also well located for a quick walk to Polly Joke for a great beach or down the headland to the creek which is a secret fave - great beach when tide is out and super swimming hole when tide is in. Caroline (the owner of Manor) and Jo (the property manager) are both incredibly helpful and quick to reply. Get your essentials delivered by online shop but if not Crantock Village has all you need (including fantastic pasties) and Morrison’s is a short drive away. I’ve already booked Manor Cottage again for the same time next year!"

"Seriously needs updating. Items not working included door keypad keys sticking, 4 spotlights on ground floor, all cooker and front and rear external lights, torch. Towel rail in bathroom broken, waste pipe from loo leaking - over time this has stained the floor. Radiator in bathroom rusted and hoover filter needs cleaning. Carpets and windows filthy and obviously not cleaned for months. Cover for tv remote is also broken. We taped it up to avoid the batteries coming out - if a child or dog swallowed them it would be very serious. Should offer broadband these days. Drains at the rear are blocked so property could flood very easily. Would never have booked it if I had known about the condition. It feels unfair not to make potential guests aware of the conditions. Padstow itself was lovely."
