"Providing you follow the owner's directions and don't rely on SatNav, the cottage was easy to find. Parking is a short distance away from the entrance. It's an old farm cottage building, which has been tastefully decorated and furnished (in 2015, we think). There's nothing from Ikea here; instead you'll find Next, JosephJosept, John Lewis, etc. Spacious enough for two and, yes, it could be described as romantic. We would have preferred more choice over lighting in the combined sitting room and kitchen. With only wall lights and lights inside the top of the kichen cupboards (plus spotlight over the sink), it felt gloomy and over time, depressing. The small windows meant that there was little natural light; some recessed lighting in the ceiling would have made it much better. Very comfortable bed and an "okay" shower. We were not blown over by the strange sink, but it served its purpose. The "cottage garden" was principally an area of decking. Once we'd managed to turn off the water feature, we enjoyed the sound of the birds. Conveniently situated for visiting both the west and east coasts of Cornwall, we clocked up quite a few miles. Didn't manage to find a nearby sandy beach, but Looe and Newquay were not too far away. Would recommend to a friend only if the lighting and location had been better."

"We liked the fact that we could easily walk into the town - but not the brief power cut we had on the first evening. It turned out that trees had come down in the storm. The Co-op, bakery, chemist, newsagent, bookshop and most of the antique shops were great and we also enjoyed the coffee shop. Of the places we visited, The Eden Project was our favourite and we spent all day there. We even found the lift this time! Mevagissey and Fowey were good places to visit, too, and we found that we could get into the harbour car park as it was out of season. Lowen Penty itself was comfortable, warm and very convenient to use. I especially liked the attractively furnished bedrooms and the friendly feel of the whole place. It feels like borrowing a home rather than renting a house!"

"This cottage was absolutely stunning! Bought as a Christmas gift from my husband I immediately looked at the pictures online and the were beautiful but when we arrived I was astounded by its beauty inside and out. Such a wonderful location and the peace and quiet was just what we needed. The kitchen area was just outstanding and the polka dot crockery collection was fabulous! Going upstairs to our beautiful bedroom was thee most comfortable bed in the whole wide world and a lovely wood fire burner. Then came my favourite part of the cottage, the fabulous corner bath and a stunning sink, have never seen such a beautiful sink. Whether you use this cottage as a stop gap or a romantic retreat it certainly is worth a stay!!"

"St Newlyn East is a good spot for accessing the A30 to tour Cornwall. The village is quiet, has a shop and a pub very close by and the local people are friendly. There are some narrow lanes to negotiate but several different routes lead to the village. The cottage is clean, well equipped and cosy and all of the appliances work well. It would be a challenge for anyone finding steps difficult to negotiate. There were toilet and kitchen rolls, washing up liquid and hand wash provided. There was sufficient room for food storage, including a good sized fridge/freezer. The cottage information on the Cornish Horizon website is accurate and the booking process and access information was efficient "

"Sparrow Cottage was lovely, just what I was looking for. A cosy little bolthole near to the north coast set in a nice little village. I enjoyed several local walks around the farmland, valleys and downs. The local shop had everything I needed as well as great friendly service. The welcome pack was a really nice touch and I enjoyed the tea and biscuits in front of a lovely warm fire most evenings. I would definitely recommend to a friend and return again in the future for a winter holiday. Thank you. P.S. excellent booking service too. Well done to the whole team."
