"Chapel House exceeded our expectations. The accommodation was excellent and had everything one required. We felt we were staying in the most luxurious country house with so many unexpected treasures. The interior decoration and layout is excellent, it was a joy to be there and see the light streaming in through the magnificent window. The Chapel has been so sympathetically converted into a magnificent home, with attention and respect given to its previous religious use. It was so interesting to see the framed title deed for the ground, when it was sold to the Chapel authorities, on display. The house has a wealth of interesting books, guide books and magazines to read, beautiful pieces of china and art works on display, so much to relish.Everything that one needs and often does not have in one's own home, although always intended to get, is provided in the kitchen/dining area. we did not have time to use the barbecue nor the heating bricks provided, although we did sit out in the garden to enjoy the air. In addition to the delightful Chapel House with all it contained, the holiday was made for us by the careful attention and kindness of our host Sarah, who provided this vegan family with a cornucopia of treats, left ready for us on our arrival, so welcome after the journey across and we celebrated with the wine! Thank you, Sarah. We will return very soon and have booked for January 2019."

"Although the weather was not kind to us during our stay, (snowed in for two days), it did not spoil our extremely enjoyable and relaxing break in this spacious beautiful dream home. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms lovely and the kitchen well equipped. Also there were many comfortable seats throughout the property. The owners were wonderful and considerate during our stay. The treats that they left for us were much appreciated, particularly during the snowed in days! This is a unique place situated in a peaceful location. The White Mouse Inn and a small local shop (selling food and essentials) are both a few minutes away in the car and in good weather you could walk to the shop. We drove to the Needles along the coastal road from Chapel House which was lovely with the wintery sky. We thank the owners for a wonderful stay and hope to return - maybe during summer when the field at the back is full of corn, must look amazing."

"Nothing too much trouble. We were left a tin of homemade muffins and shortbread. The kitchen is well equipped with masses of crockery, cutlery, pots pans etc. as well as a good fridge and freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Bathrooms very good although we did find it a bit difficult to get the shower to be not too hot; you have the change the temperature on the ascot boiler. The huge wood burning stove was so efficient that we had to turn the heating off! Good TV, plenty of games. Having such a large room as the living area meant it was ideal for a group as there are always little areas one can retire to for a nap or read a book. We went for christmas and found the place decorated which was a lovely touch. The walking in the area is great. The dog loved it. Fabulous views from the cliffs which are short a short stroll away. Very good pubs abound although the local WIGHT MOUSE pub was not great. Highly recommended. We will be back."

"My husband and I stayed here with two other couples. We have all been going away together for some years now and this must be the loveliest place we have stayed in. Being met by the owner on our arrival was a nice touch and much appreciated as were the extra touches such as the home made cake! All three bedrooms were comfortable so no one drew the ‘short straw’. We cooked in some days and usually found everything we needed. On the one rainy morning that we had we made ourselves comfortable in the tv room and watched a very recent film supplied by the owners so no one had time to be fed up. The house is in a good postition for trips out and not too far from some good restaurants. Our favourite was The Teverners. There was plenty to do in the Isle of Wight including some lovely walks. Our only gripe was the cost of the ferry to get there!! (But obviously not the fault of Chapel House owners)"

"There were however aspects of the property which we could have done with knowing about beforehand. These are not criticisms, they are part of the charm of the place, but we could have done with knowing about them. First, the drive up to the cottage is very steep and comes off a bend in the road, so it is always necessary to have a person guide a car our. There is a mirror opposite the driveway, but it cannot be seen at night. Second, the ceilings in the cottage are very low, and there is always a step down into a room. This means that tall people are likely to bang their heads on the lintels of the doors. All in all, we had a lovely time at Sweet Briars, and would thoroughly recommend it to others.Lovely place to stay for a family.Kitchen needs to be near dining room.Brilliant location, fabulous cottage. Holiday was perfect, would recommend it to anyone who was visiting the island"
