What our customers say about their holidays

I filled in an on line form as soon as I arrived.

I also rang the owner. The description on your website is incorrect. If it had been a correct description of the layout I would not have booked it. It says on the ground floor there’s a downstairs bedroom leading to the living room which leads to the kitchen, and there’s three bedrooms on the first floor. So I booked it because I’m disabled and use a wheelchair so everything was on the ground floor for me. But it wasn’t. The kitchen was upstairs so totally ruined Christmas for us as I only went upstairs when two people carried me which was unsafe. One of the elderly couples decided they couldn’t come when I told them about the layout of the property because they originally assumed they’d only have to go upstairs at bedtime. So the cost had to be divided between two parties instead of three, which we wouldn’t have paid if we’d known about it. Your website also states fuel provided so we didn’t take wood, it wasn’t provided so Christmas Eve had to go looking for wood. Contacted the owner who said he would have to contact Sykes about fuel being provided. Also said to him, as it’s Christmas we thought there’d be a Christmas tree up, his reply was I live in Chester, I’m useless (referring to himself). There wasn’t even a piece of tinsel. The downstairs wet room leaked onto the bedroom floor, and we couldn’t turn the heating off so had to go round turning radiators on and off.

We've just had a magical weekend at this lovely property. When we entered it was toasty warm and smelled gorgeous. As well as being perfectly situated and fully equipped, it has everything you need for a relaxing break, from bracing beach walks, to local eateries, or you can sit in the upstairs lounge, read a book and just gaze at the stunning views like I did! There are games and books dotted about, also the artwork was fascinating and a good conversation starter. The rear patio was cozy and had comfy furniture to sit and have a morning cuppa whilst the sun comes up .Location was superb, we dined at 'The View' where the food was top notch, and the staff and clientele were really welcoming and friendly. We also went to Cafe Largo for breakfast, which is only a short walk along the sand dunes. The owners left a comprehensive guide to local activities and restaurants, which we found useful. We would 100% recommend this property, and will definitely be staying again. It's worth noting that we enquired about this booking with only two days notice, and the owners were gracious enough to accept us , even with such short notice. Don't hesitate to book!

On the whole we had a lovely holiday. However there were a few things we weren’t happy about. When we arrived the instructions re the key were incorrect. It said the key safe was on the side of the house - it was actually in the garage. The code was also wrong. I had tried to ring the owner but there was no answer. Luckily a neighbour came out to help us and knew where the key safe was and what the correct Code was. I received an email at 20.30 on Saturday evening providing the correct information- just 4.5 hours too late. Secondly the oven didn’t work and tripped the electrics when we tried to use it. I tried to call the owner several times about this but there was never a response. There were no cleaning cloths in the kitchen and no bread knife or sharp knife (minor inconveniences). On our departure date the owner rang me to ask what time we were leaving. I confirmed 11 a m. She then told me she was just two doors away. Clearly she had my number and must have seen my missed calls but left it until our departure time to get in touch.

      Wonderful Chapel Cottage.

Location, location, location made our stay so perfect. Inside the owners certainly considered the history of the chapel, yet managed to bring a modern mix with the old. Very clean in every detail. Wild life looking through the spotless windows was a joy, even seeing a white rabbit amongst the usual grey ones. Nothing was in short supply inside with plenty of utensils in the kitchen. The lounge was comfortable to relax in. Bath room downstairs was spotless. Upstairs again perfect. The main bedroom overlooking the downstairs lounge was clever, giving an air of space and contentment. Just off the small landing is located the second bedroom, smaller, but with a porthole window which we imagine used to have a clock and now put to excellent use. So although the gravestones in the gardens greet you, let this not question you about your stay here. You will miss a wonderful chance to stay in a perfect cottage.

I was very slightly disappointed by how dusty the church was.

The TVand DVD player had weeks of dust on it with fingerprints in the dust, the corners of the rooms were dusty with lots of cobwebs, and the fridge was very dirty with remnants of food, dried on spilt milk and a pungent smell. After a deep clean of the fridge, a dust around and the corners of the room swept the church was perfect. Half hour of my time to make it a wonderful place to stay. It was very homely and comfortable with all mod cons. The bed was very comfortable but could do with blinds on the windows as the light woke me around 4.30 every morning. There were quite a few rabbits which was cute to see every day. I loved the place. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back despite being visited by something in the cupboard next to the washing machine eating away at my food. Lol A welcomed break in a quirky place made it a brilliant get away which was thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you
