    About this property

This magnificent, ‘upside down’ barn conversion enjoys wonderful views and is in an excellent, central location for exploring seaside towns and villages, stunning countryside, mountains and beaches of the Llyn Peninsula.

This stunning ‘upside down’ barn conversion, standing detached, has been finished to a high standard and has a delightful living room/kitchen on the first floor with French doors opening to a decked balcony with great views of the surrounding countryside. From the living room, a wonderful wrought iron spiral staircase leads down to the bedroom and shower room, and can be illuminated at night for a special effect! The unobtrusive and friendly owners live opposite, and are on hand should you need advice or assistance during your stay. Their very well behaved family pets are also friendly and welcoming, but do not present a nuisance.
This is an excellent, central location on the Llyn Peninsula, giving easy access to all corners, with mountains, beaches and many attractions. The bustling market town of Pwllheli is within a few minutes’ drive and has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants, not to mention the stunning beach which seems to go on for miles, topped with grassy sand dunes. Criccieth with its historic, hilltop castle and beach is a little further to the east, as is Porthmadog with the famous Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways. Take the steam train on a nostalgic journey through the breath taking scenery of the Welsh mountains from Porthmadog in the south, to the delightful town of Caernarfon in the north, with its majestic castle standing proudly at the harbour.
The seaside villages of Nefyn, Abersoch and sleepy Aberdaron are within easy reach and worth a visit, as is the stunning village of Porthdinllaen, situated literally on the beach. Nant Gwrtheyrn on the north coast is a disused quarry village, and a café provides refreshments after a bracing walk down to the beach.
The area is also great for walkers with the Llyn coastal footpath to explore, or take a boat trip to Bardsey Island. There is so much to see and do, you are sure to return. Shop 1 mile, pub 2 ½ miles.
Double bedroom. Shower room with toilet. Narrow, open-tread, spiral stairs to first floor: Open-plan living room with French doors and gas woodburner/kitchen with breakfast area and wooden floor.

"The cottage was comfortable cozy and peaceful with super views from the decking. The owners were friendly and informative and were helped by the "Meet & Greet" team of Holly, Burt, Leo and Puss. We intend, all being well, to return next year as there is much to see and do in that area of Wales"

"Very well presented cottage in strong location in scenic part of the district. Friendly and helpful hosts."

"A great weeks break at the Barn, good location with fantastic views. A short drive to the local town. Karen and Steve were friendly and knowledgeable about the area (where to eat, shops etc). The accommodation was a high standard and spotlessly clean. I would recommend a stay Ty Gwyn Barn if your looking for a relaxing break. The internet worked fine all the time we were there on my laptop and iPad."

"Ty Gwyn Barn is the perfect place for couples to get away. The barn itself is warm, cosy and will meet all your needs. The hosts were very welcoming and advised us on the best places to go and visit while we were there. The barn is in the perfect location as it is central to picturesque coastlines and to enjoy long walks on the beach. We will definitely be staying here again!"

"We loved staying here and can't recommend it enough. The French windows opening up onto a terrace with a great view over a field makes the cottage feel light as well as airy. The bedroom is large and we slept brilliantly every night. We will be back for sure; so much to see in the area. If it rains, we just relax in this wonderful cottage. Thank you to the hosts, available if we needed anything, which we didn't as everything was perfect as it was."

"Ty Gwyn barn was an ideal location for us and turned out to be very well equipped and clean with very helpful and friendly owners on site. It is in a very peaceful location and well placed for visits to the Lleyn Peninsula as well as Snowdonia, Caernarfon and Anglesey. Local services are limited, a shop and petrol station one mile away and places to eat somewhat further. Anyone with limited mobility would find the spiral staircase rather problematic. Our lower assessment of value for money is purely based on our own experience of the cost of 2 person accommodation and is not a reflection of what the property offers in terms of comfort and convenience."
