Throughout the year there are lots of sailing events, including the Raft Race and Abersoch Triple Crown. There's plenty for amateur sailing enthusiasts to enjoy too, and if you prefer being in the water rather than just on it, why not try power boarding, paddle boarding, surfing, or windsurfing?

There are some great little beaches in the area, including Abersoch Main Beach and Porth Neigwl, which roughly translates as 'Hell's Mouth' and is a popular spot with surfers. Away from the beaches, you'll also find a selection of great restaurants and shops, in fact, everything you'd expect from a popular seaside resort. Plas Glyn y Weddw is one of the top tourist attractions in the area, a modern art gallery housed in a magnificent Gothic mansion and well worth a visit after a heavenly day spent on the beach.

Get away from it all and enjoy a rejuvenating trip to Abersoch, one of the most picturesque and tranquil parts of Wales. Make your holiday really special and choose one of the amazing holiday cottages in Abersoch, full of charm and character and ideal for family trips or romantic soirees.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Benjamin - Verified booking

I booked two houses on the same street for a friendly reunion with old school friends who now live all over the world.

Upon entering the property I was impressed with its décor and cleanliness. Although I wasn’t staying in the house myself, my friends did and by virtue of this, did spend lots of time within the property. And for the first two days, I did wonder why the property had such poor ratings in comparison to the other house we booked on the same street. I personally don’t have much to comment on in regards of the stay, however I was extremely upset to wake up to a workman parked outside of the property on the Monday morning. I approached the man as he was starting to paint the house with wet, white paint, clearly not appropriate when children were playing. I asked him why he was there doing such a job, and he replied that the owners had told him the house was empty. He said the owners have told him to come here in the past and the house has been occupied, however, holiday tenants had let him continue to paint. I expressed that I was not going to be one of those people and I though it was incredibly disrespectful to action maintenance works on a property that was being occupied. I manage property myself, and these works should be done in winter or when the house is empty. If the works need to be carried out in the summer months, then the owners should book a week from the website to do this work and should absolutely not be done when the property has been paid for. It’s incredibly rude, self-serving, selfish and unprofessional. I was not going to ask my friends children to stop playing and to avoid the wet walls of a house when they have paid a lot of money for the use of this house for a holiday stay, it’s a completely ridiculous expectation, I was absolutely shocked. The gentleman thanked me for the conversation, shook my hand and left. Just over an hour later, after getting out of the shower, I noticed yet another van parked outside the house, with the boot open and two men walking towards the house with window cleaning equipment. My two friends were in the garden in bikinis with their naked infant children playing in the garden. Now, this was not only personally very triggering for me, but was an absolutely inappropriate situation to find us in. I was not informed about these men coming, I don’t know if they’ve been DBS checked, I have no idea who these men are. Now, after rushing across the road post shower to have yet another confrontation. I found myself half naked, talking to two much older men, one of which was very old, the other, quite aggressive in his facial expression and stance. I expressed to these men that we were paying customers in the house and we don’t want any non-priority maintenance work happening on the house whilst we stay there. To which I was met with distain and a lack of understanding. The younger man made it very clear he was going to continue with the cleaning of the windows and I left. I had to watch my friends and their children enter the house on a sunny day and draw the blinds whilst these men cleaned the windows. I felt completely disrespected, unheard and invalidated for asking these men to leave. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. We shouldn’t have to censor what we do around complete strangers whilst staying in a rented holiday home. I was absolutely disgusted that not only these works had been booked in on a week that it was occupied but that were not warned these works were going ahead. Also, when trying to stop the works from continuing, I was met with quite frankly, an aggressive reaction from one of the men (the older man was actually very sweet and didn’t say anything.) These works should not only be happening, and most importantly, I should not have had to have these confrontational conversations when I’m on holiday. I was supposed to be relaxing with my friends and quite frankly, I did not enjoy my remaining days of my holiday last week, it put me in quite a sad and deflated state of mind. I had to spend the whole of Monday on my won, away from my friends managing my own emotions surrounding the feelings that were evoked from these circumstances and interactions. I expect either a full or partial refund for this stay and a personal apology via email from the owners of this property. I will not be booking this house again.

This is a property that I have stayed in many times and will return to over and over again.

When I arrive and have unpacked I'm just happy. The best thing about the cottage is definitely the view. It has a wide window sill which I love to sit on and just stare out at the sea. The view changes constantly, on a clear day the views across the fields to the sea are beautiful and when the weather is bad they are dramatic and ever changing. The main bedroom has the same view and I love to sit in bed with my coffee and enjoy the vista. It is a short walk over to the coastal path and a quick descent down to Hell's Mouth beach. I have visited a various times of year but in the summer I enjoy body boarding in the waves. There is a lovely walk straight from the cottage which is a couple of hours and follows the coastal path finishing on the town beach in Abersoch. I always take my dog and she gets several walks a day along the beach. The cottage is always perfectly clean. When I am there I like to stay in and cook and the kitchen is well equipped. It is a short drive into Abersoch and I like to wander round the shops and pick up groceries there There is plenty of parking and I can even charge my electric car using the onsite charger.

This was a very comfortable property. There was lots of space to spread out and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything from a fruit bowl to kitchen scales and lots of crockery. It was provided with dishwasher tabs, cleaning equipment , bin bags, foil etc. Clear instructions were left about sorting the rubbish for recycling ( there was a compartmentalised bin in the kitchen) There was also the laundry room with a washing machine and tumble drier and an outside rotary clothes line with pegs. The ensuite bathroom was huge with a big bath and "rainfall" type walk in shower. Guests in the upstairs rooms had their own WC and sink but needed to use the downstairs family bathroom for showers. Please note the TV is a Smart one so we could watch Amazon Prime etc. The property was sparkling clean. As the weather was lovely we were able to use the garden furniture outside. There were lots of thoughtful touches, hooks for dressing gowns for example and lots of storage space. Overall very pleased with Dolphin Bach. Had a very special stay.

The location of Ty’n Don is fantastic, it’s so close to the costal path down to Porth Neigwl and the views are breathtaking.

What we loved was the space around the property, plenty of parking enough even for the owners to kindly let us park our small boat there too, the flat space was perfect for our 9 year old daughter to spend hours riding her bike around safely. Great convenient touches like a washing line to hang your wet gear up after being on the beach, hose pipe for washing off the sand or mud. Great space for us to walk our dog too. Inside the property it was really clean and very homely, well equipment and great to have a full size fridge freezer. The only feedback we had for improvement would be the double mattresses we found it uncomfortable. Bringing our bedding wasn’t too much of an issue we brought, everything including duvets and pillows but they were actually provided it was just sheets and covers you need to bring. Just over a 5 min drive into Abersoch The owners were really helpful and friendly. Overall our stay was perfect and we didn’t want to leave we will be back for sure.

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Y Garn, for the 4th year on the run. The house is spectacular, and has a real sense of luxury. Everything is of a very high spec, and has been very tastefully put together, it’s a real treat to stay there. It is perfectly located for a stroll into Abersoch or a more strenuous walk along the beautiful Lynn Peninsula coastal walk. It’s also a perfect base for playing some of the local golf courses, and as the house has a garage, it’s perfect for storing all the wet golfing and walking gear should the weather take a turn for the worse. We will definitely be back again, and would recommend to anyone. An additional positive is that Michael, the owner is very responsive to texts should you need to know something about the house, nothing is too much trouble, he even promptly arranged for personal belongings to be returned by Royal Mail, which we were very grateful for. Thank you Michael
