What our customers say about their holidays

We stayed at Sandy House for a week from 3-10 August.

We are a family of 5 with 3 under 5, and Maggie the dog. Sandy House is on a small cul-de-sac off a quiet road which means privacy and a minimum of foot and road traffic noises - bliss when you’ve arrived from a town. It also meant that the children could ride their scooters up and down without fear when we were sitting at the front. As soon as we pulled up we were greeted by friendly neighbours on either side, all enjoying the last of the evening’s sunshine. The house was extremely clean, smelled fresh and had everything we needed; Caroline and Quentin had even thought to stock the fridge with the essentials and left a welcome basket of goodies. The living area was large enough to hold our family but not feel like we were on top of each other, helped by the fact that the outdoor area was straight out of the bifold doors. We didn’t use the decking much but with 3 small and active children there wasn’t much chance to sit down anywhere! The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need, again it was all very clean and well look after. We also appreciated the inclusion of smaller sized cutlery and child-friendly crockery. The utility with washing machine and dryer was superb, and well used during the visit. The bunk beds, twin room and double (with en-suite) on the 1st floor were perfect for the family to spread out in. Each beautifully presented, beautifully clean and very welcoming. The enormous family bathroom and landing area was just perfect for bedtime/bathtime routine and the large, fluffy white towels were of good quality and spotless. On the top floor was a further double room with en-suite and the family room, complete with enormous tv, sprawling sofa and a gaming area. We hung out and watched films and listened to the Anglesey weather raging against the windows and even managed a sleep over up there on the last night. Overall we had a thoroughly brilliant time at Sandy House and felt right at home and extremely welcomed. The little touches throughout (the dog bed and bowl, the 1st aid kit/under the sink essentials, the bathrobes, the board games and candles, are just some examples) showed that the owners cared about their home and the environment they were trying to create for their guests during their holiday. I will be recommending Sandy House to my friends and family and on our next visit, we’ll definitely try to book in again. Thank you Caroline and Quentin.

It’s in a great location very quiet although a bit of traffic in the day, not a concern for us though.

When you park up and go through the back gate it’s very secure and had furniture to sit on but was full of green and dirt so didn’t sit out as I wasn’t going to was it first. It could do with a sweep too! Lovely modern kitchen had everything you needed although the cutlery was dirty as the dishwasher stank. The living room is so dated compared to the kitchen and there was dust and bits all over it needs a good clean, under the sofa was full of dog hair and dust! I only knew this as I kicked my shoe under and had to get it out. The furniture has had its day so uncomfortable. The bedrooms were lovely, fresh clean bedding and bright but cosy. The bathroom is small but ok but we had talc all over it was obvious it hadn’t been properly cleaned. To say we couldn’t get in until 5 I’d expect it to be better cleaned. I’m no ‘mrs hinch’ but I don’t like other people’s muck! Overall it’s ok and we had a lovely time.

The cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and there was a welcoming vase of flowers and traditional Welsh cakes.

It's a fairly small, characterful cottage about 10 minutes' drive from Rhosneigr, and 5 mins drive to the local Spar. Kitchen was well equipped, with a small pull-out table with just enough room for 2 people. Spacious living room with inglenook fireplace. No separate dining area, so it's 'teas on knees' in the living room if there's more than two of you. The cottage is right next to the road but there wasn't much traffic, and the occasional jet plane flying overhead did not bother us. The only negative point was the bed in the main bedroom. It's a small double - we are used to a kingsize and struggled to sleep together in a small bed. My husband ended up sleeping on the fold-out bed in the smaller bedroom. The rental was very pricey for what it was, but I guess that it due to the increased demand for staycations at present.

Ffrwd cottage was a little gem.

I booked the cottage and the lodge behind it so that we could holiday together as a family with my sister and her family safely this summer. The outdoor space was extremely useful for this. Highlights for me were watching the sun go down through the window whilst sat snuggly inside curled up with a book and a morning walk from the cottage down to the beach and back (5 miles in total). The BBQ outside came in handy and was a thoughtful touch. As were the ironing board and hairdryer. Rhosneigr is a beautiful little village. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. As were the cottage owners Louise & Tim who checked to make sure we were comfortable for our stay. The cottage was very clean, I wouldn't hesitate to book it again.

Thank you Emma, we had a lovely stay in Bryn Tirion.

The location of perfect. It was good to have use of the outside area. The back door which we used 98% of the time is a bit stiff. It would be perfect if we could have the use of a washing machine during the stay as being close to the beach, with children, it’s a necessary really! Plus an extra room to escape to when the weather is poor would also be useful (the second downstairs room is locked for storage which does make the house seem quite cramped if children take over the living space!). Emma was available to answer queries and provided cleaning products by the next day. All in all we had an excellent stay! Thank you!
