Escape to the quaint seaside town of Aldeburgh for a relaxing getaway filled with lazy beach days, seafood dinners and relaxing nature walks. Stay in this charming sailor’s cottage just 200 metres from the beach with homely, coastal-themed interiors and a sunny south-facing courtyard. Surround yourself with nature and lose yourself in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with your small family or the other half.
Step inside the cosy living room and put your feet up on the sofa in front of the original feature fireplace* and tranquil tones of blue throughout the room. Continue into the galley kitchen with homely wooden cabinets and plenty of surface space for preparing a hearty meal for your loved ones. There is also a minimalistic bathroom with a shower over the bath. Completing the inside of the cottage are two bedrooms – a double and a twin room. Outside is a small courtyard with furniture.
During your stay in the heart of the Edwardian seaside town of Aldeburgh, you’ll have an array of cosy cafes, seafood restaurants and independent shops on your doorstep (within 0.5 miles) as well as a museum, Tudor-style buildings and a garden centre. Pack a picnic and set off for a day on Aldeburgh Beach (500 metres), or stroll along the seafront to the River Alde and Sudbourne Beach (1 mile). Further afield is the Captain’s Wood nature reserve (11 miles) and National Trust Orford Ness National Nature Reserve (12 miles). While you’re in the area, the 14th-century Leiston Abbey ruins (6 miles) is a must-see.
Mr Mumford
Lovely two bed cottage just off the high street and two minutes walk from the beach / sea front. Really close to the great fish and chip shop! Stairs almost vertical so not recommended for someone less able. We would definitely return.l given the opportunity.
Mrs Paton
A lovely cottage for two people, ideally placed for all the shops and wonderfully close to the beach.

More info about parking might have been helpful but in the event, it was fine; it's just that before you arrive and start planning these things, it's useful to have as much info as possible. Your assistant on the phone before we left was as helpful as he could have been. I think the back door latch needs attention; it felt a bit wobbly. How to dispose of household waste would have given us a clearer idea of how to recycle; in the event, we distributed it around various local bins but that wasn't ideal.
