What our customers say about their holidays

    • Samuel - Verified booking

I would like to recommend this property.

However, when we arrived in January the temperature in the property was 16C. The heating is set to a cost-saving timer (that can't be overridden) and so the property never got above 18C. We raised our concerns with BestofSuffolk and it took nearly 2 days for it be resolved. The owner could have easily switched the heating on but insisted on not doing so until we raised the issue for a 3rd time. I would not stay in this property from Oct to March, as you will be cold. Bestofsuffolk where very poor in handling the issue and dealing with an owner that is more interested in saving money than giving a good experience to their customers.

Skimming Stones is a large apartment in a great location, very close to the High Street at the South end of Aldeburgh.

Being on the ground floor in a built up area, it doesn't have views from any of the rooms. The beds were comfortable and the living/dining room was good. The bathrooms were great and there was plenty of hot water. The underfloor heating (in December/January) was hopeless, so we had to use the fan heater if we wanted to warm a room. The lighting was strange in that there are plenty of lights in the lounge/dining/kitchen but many of them barely give off a glow. I think they must be old low energy bulbs nearing the end of their life. It is a reasonable property, but there are much better places in Aldeburgh if you book well in advance.

A beautiful property on the High Street.

Very well maintained and equipped, more than enough room and equipment for 8 people. Really comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Everywhere sparklingly clean. Nice and warm with the ability to control the heat yourself. Huge kitchen/diner, 2 separate lounges and 4 beautifully decorated bedrooms each with a bathroom. Lots of unrestricted parking at the back of the property (property can be accessed from front or back), no noise or smells from the restaurant below. Lots of cafes, bakeries and eateries within a few minutes walk. Would not hesitate to stay here again the pictures do not do it justice.

Property lovely plenty of China and glasses .

Good quality equipment and lots of it. Thank you for welcome gifts much appreciated. Few little things the big plates stop dishwasher arm from going round . The balcony glass does need cleaning I did leave note for cleaners and main shower was not draining properly also key box very stiff we struggled with it and a spare set of keys would be very useful as we found we constantly were worried when putting shoes on in lobby we could get locked out of house door if we didn’t put latch on or have key but non of this affected us we thought you had a beautiful place and very well equipped and comfortable and sunset was amazing

We are four couples , who spend a week together every year in a different area of Britain, for a mostly walking holiday.

This year was outstanding. Regatta exceeded all expectations - a huge flat, with wonderful facilities - we wanted for nothing. We loved the outside seating too, even at the end of September- a beautiful space. The ease of parking in the road behind, with direct access. We had wondered, but not once did we hear the restaurant below- and we loved eating there. Staying so centrally in beautiful Aldeburgh was a joy and we even walked to swim first thing some mornings in the sea. It was a thoroughly wonderful flat and we would recommend unstintingly.
