What our customers say about their holidays

    • Adrian - Verified booking

      We had an amazing stay.

We arrived a little early but Gareth welcomed us, vacuum cleaner in hand and immediately gave us some great tips about the local area. We were able to leave our bags before heading off into the village in search of lunch. Upon our return, there was a fantastic welcome hamper containing all kinds of essentials and a couple of extra surprises in the fridge (I won't spoil it for future guests). This was totally unexpected and a lovely start to our holiday. The property itself has everything you need, everything! Although it's compact, the only room that is actually small is the living room area. Kitchen, bedroom and bathroom are perfectly sized. The hot tub was excellent and clean, very private too. The garden and the outlook from it are beautiful, we could see a bird of prey visiting an adjacent field almost every morning whilst we had our coffee. Our calves are still burning from the walk in and out of the village, at 10 mins sauntering pace it was ideal for us and helped burn off a few calories after dining at several of the excellent local bars and restaurants. The bed was comfy, the towels all super soft and the bath (massive) & shower were excellent. There's not much more I can add other than Gareth and Judith were both wonderful hosts and made it clear to 'give them a knock' if there was anything we needed, there wasn't as they seem to have thought of everything already! absolutely lovely hosts. We will be back and are already looking forward to another stay. Thank you so very much. Ady & Vix xxx.

We parked to unload on short stay carpark by the church and then parked the car for a week at Willow carpark £35 for the week. It was literally a 5 minute walk to the cottage from the church short stay ( more if the Fountain Inn is open ….easy to side track) The cottage is a few doors up from the pub on the left. Access via a few steps and through the gate. Enter into a lovely little welcoming room. Small kitchen to the right which has everything you need for self catering. Spotlessly clean and overlooking a courtyard. This room has a dining table and log burner which we used and it warmed the cottage beautifully. Radiators in every room but we were lucky with the weather and only needed them later on in the evening. Up the narrow staircase is the living room. Again warm and welcoming and leading to the bathroom and bedroom. There is a door from the bedroom leading to a roof garden. No sea or harbour views but a lovely view over the rooftops at the village. Seating is up there too. The cottage is basically a lovely place to stay. It is central to the village and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We would absolutely return if there is availability as we love Mevagissey and this cottage is absolutely perfect.

We spent the first week of November at the cottage and were fortunate to have a mild and dry week. I really wanted to light the log burner but the cottage wasn’t cold enough, even without the heating on!! The cottage is very clean and cosy and the amenities are excellent. The stairs to the living room are very steep - I twisted my ankle the day before we came away and found them quite challenging but the chrome bannisters were a godsend. The cottage is in a fantastic location close to everything Mevagissey has to offer. There are plenty of places to eat out at a reasonable cost and lots of places to explore slightly further afield. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are worth a visit and cost half the price of the Eden Project. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay.

The cottage was really good, so quiet and really well equipped.

The hot tub was a real bonus. The owners live next door and are really helpful if required but in no way intrusive so you feel like you are there on your own. Hot tub is quite private and not overlooked. Kitchen easy to use, great big fridge freezer, oven is excellent and all the bits you need to cook self catering all week. Location is superb, right on the edge of the countryside, walk downhill to Mega is about 7 minutes, but longer on the way back as its pretty fierce the hill... By the end of the week we were getting fitter!!! Towels for bathing and separate for hot tub provided and really good quality, as is the basic toiletries/cleaning products so no need to bring any. Just take yourselves and relax!

There was everything, and more, that you could possibly need in this beautifully presented holiday home.

It was very clean and tidy and the furnishings were lovely. The jacuzzi was private and very well maintained and clean - a lovely way to spend an evening under the stars. We used it every day. The owners live next door but apart from a welcome as we arrived they left us to enjoy our stay without interference. The hamper full of delicious food and drinks was a fantastic surprise. It is a longish drive down a narrow lane to get there but local drivers seemed quite considerate. The walk down to Mevagissey was steep but the views are amazing. Well worth it. We would highly recommend a stay at this holiday home.
