"Booked S15711 based on the pictures on the website for a weekend in January, and it did not disappoint. The cottage is next to a working farm house but it could have been miles away. On arrival were greeted by the owner and shown through the modern spacious converted barn. Tea and coffee facilities provided and lovely bottle of wine provided by the host then we were left on our own. With the fire lit we settled back for a relaxing weekend. That night drove the short distance to The Clanfield Tavern in Clanfield just over a mile away. Fantastic setting and despite the service being a little slow the staff more that made up for the wait and would not put us off going back again. Back at the property we settled in for a quite drink, literally. The surroundings are so peaceful. The bedroom is situated above the bathroom/kitchen and with the fire blazing gets very HOT. Speaking of hot mind yourself on the towel rail in the bathroom as it has a bit of a bite!!! One place to visit if you have a bit of a sweet tooth in a bakery in the high street of Burford. Naughty and very nice. Decided to stay in the second night and order a take-away. This was the only problem we found. All the local take-away deliver to Clanfield but not to Grafton so in the end we had to pop out and get it ourselves from Carterton nearby. Overall though a fantastic stay and anyone staying will not be disappointed. Would recommend staying over winter as the cottage has a fantastic romantic feel with the woodburner but I’m sure it would be nice all year round. Will definitely consider staying again next winter. Thanks very much. March 2012."

"Cottage was large and very lived in (being the owners home in the winter) but is on a very main road with lots of fast driving traffic all day/night. We had 2 dogs and 2 young children in the party and were constantly paranoid one would get out straight into the road. Also it is right next to a church where bells ring all day and night - if you are a light sleeper, this will wake you up every hour. Beds are very uncomfortable, being able to feel and hear every spring.Outside lawned garden is actually the owners as they live in the summerhouse when you are there, and whilst they said we could also use it, they are always in it and there is a "shut the gate" notice on the entrance to it which makes it uninviting. The house is large though and it's good not to have to take your own linen and towels. The owners' office is in the house (locked door from inside and entrance from outside) which they are always using and their food in freezer but they seem friendly enough when we spoke to them."

"It is a very large house with spacious rooms and adequate levels of equipment. Unfortunately the lack of maintenance let it down. Whilst the decor is fine, but very dated, the plumbing services require attention. We had no toilet facility in the main bathroom due to a faulty flush. We were instructed to press the lever twice by the owner but that did not work. Therefore suggesting that the problem was already known. While there is a very small toilet downstairs, and one in an en-suite this was no compensation. The village is very nice with a church next door where the bells sound on the hour, and a pub virtually opposite. The pub was very welcoming and served decent meals, but unfortunately no meals are available on a Sunday evening. Most of the pubs in the area shut of a Sunday evening so we ended up in Banbury. We were there for just 3 nights. We would/could not have stayed any longer due to lack of maintenance."

"We stayed at S15711 from 20-28 December 2014 over Christmas week. When we arrived the friendly owner showed us around and made us feel welcome and gave us information about the local area. The pictures really do not do the lovely spacious yet cosy cottage justice. They had tastefully decorated the cottage with a Christmas Tree and other festive decorations. We had sucha peaceful and relaxing christmas week, when we are usually used to a hectic family Christmas but thought we would have a year to ourselves. There are lots of things to do and see. Also some exquisite places to eat.We will most certainly be returning to S15711 in the future. As a couple in our 20's we would recommend that this lovely cottage is suitable for people of any age."

"S15711 is situated across the yard from the owners home in a beautiful, isolated location. It has many extra touches that make it special, as well as everything you would need and expect. The seating area at the rear is a real suntrap, and a lovely place to sit in the evenings. There are shops, pubs and restaurants within a short drive, and the overall location is perfect for exploring the Cotswolds. The owners are delightful people who leave you to get on with your holiday, but are always around if you need any advice, or just fancy a friendly chat. We felt like we'd made good friends by the end of our week there. If we ever visit this part of the country again, this is the place we'd want to stay."
