"This review is supplied somewhat post-dated from our stay at S15720 (in Sept 2014) - some minor 'glitches' with IT prevented us at the time from supplying our review whilst we were on our 3 month vacation from Australia! We spent 3 glorious weeks at this cottage and loved every moment of our time there. The cottage is a delight - a 'picture-perfect' thatched cottage! It is well equipped, beautifully decorated, has a fantastic power shower (not something you find often in the UK), 2 cosey fireplaces (1 of which we lit every night), lovely family dining room and TV snug and a beautiful garden and orchard to relax in, of which we took advantage of daily. The cottage is perfectly located for exploring surrounding Oxfordshire and Cotswolds and it's location within the tiny village of Warbrough is stunning. Being a family of 3 (our son being 4 years old) it was wonderful to be able to walk to the village green to play cricket, kick the football or play on the playground. Also having a fabulous pub only seconds away was a huge bonus. It is also worth mentioning the owners of the cottage could not do enough to ensure that we enjoyed our stay at the cottage. They were warmly welcoming and did everything possible to ensure we had a fabulous holiday. We couldn't recommend more highly anyone wishing for a quiet 'getaway' so close to London. We can't wait to return in 2016!!"

"I spent a week at S15720 with my brother (first holiday together since about 30 years) and we simply loved the cottage. It is just how you would imaging a cottage in the english countryside: small but cosy, with lots of "knickknacks" creating a feeling of being a "home away from home". It certainly is not "stylish" with all its different kinds of furniture and decoration, but it feels a lot more like a family home than many other holiday cottages I've seen so far. The really low ceilings and doors will be a problem for anyone larger than 1,85m, I think, but we managed not to bang our head too often. In fact, the ceilings, the uneven floors and the "clutter" gave us the feeling of living in a hobbit hole somewhere in the Shire *ggg*. Unfortunately, it has been much to warm to use the impressing open fireplace. It will be a wonderful feature during an autumn or winter holiday, I imagine. The village of Warborough is really small, but there's a shop just a short walk down the street where you can buy most things needed day to day. And "The Six Bells" is just around the corner. They serve very good meals and the staff is great. The garden of the cottage is absolutely cute. We loved having breakfast out there. It's just how a cottage garden should look like, visits of a very friendly cat included."

"Had a wonderful holiday in this quirky cottage. The dog loved the enclosed garden and the property is really close to the beautiful village green where you can watch cricket, the 6 Bells Pub (which featured in Midsomer Murders) and a village shop. There is also a fish and chip van that comes to Warborough Village Hall car park every Thursday between 4.30pm and 8.30pm. The surrounding countryside is stunning and if you like Midsomer Murders we would certainly recommend doing the driving trail (leaflet can be found in the pub). There are also lovely walks from the cottage to Wallingford, Dorchester on Thames, Shillingford etc. There are only a couple of things that you need to be aware of and that is whilst there is car parking it is extremely tight if you have a large car (we had an estate car and it took some manoeuvring to park it) and the Freeview TV kept dropping signal (it may be that the owners need to invest in a digital ariel or a booster box - although for some strange reason it was okay when the weather was not so good). We had a wonderful holiday here and are looking forward to going back."

"We had several problems that were, I am sure, one-offs. They were to do with a washing machine that had to be replaced. The people who did this job and the plumbing were, frankly, not very good and we had leaking water all over the floor. It took many many attempts to solve this. I really felt for Helen, the owner, who did her best: she was let down by incompetent workmen.A few other things: there could be clearer, simpler instructions for the heating and other technology. Personally I cannot follow the instructions given by the companies that install heating: you need a degree in engineering to understand them. If there was a page of instructions written by someone who had used the system or the machine that would be better.Another minor gripe is that other cottages give recommendations about the area: where to visit, restaurants, etc... We just had a few leaflets. But on the whole we loved the cottage and the area and would certainly come back. Suggestion: Helen needs a better plumber!"

"Cottage was large and very lived in (being the owners home in the winter) but is on a very main road with lots of fast driving traffic all day/night. We had 2 dogs and 2 young children in the party and were constantly paranoid one would get out straight into the road. Also it is right next to a church where bells ring all day and night - if you are a light sleeper, this will wake you up every hour. Beds are very uncomfortable, being able to feel and hear every spring.Outside lawned garden is actually the owners as they live in the summerhouse when you are there, and whilst they said we could also use it, they are always in it and there is a "shut the gate" notice on the entrance to it which makes it uninviting. The house is large though and it's good not to have to take your own linen and towels. The owners' office is in the house (locked door from inside and entrance from outside) which they are always using and their food in freezer but they seem friendly enough when we spoke to them."
