    Sedbergh Holiday Cottages

Nestled in the Cumbrian mountains, arriving in the town of Sedbergh presents a stunning introduction to the area with views of the valley and Howgill Fells. Sedbergh’s fame comes from an eclectic mix of factors including books, sheep and Quakers. In the 1600s, the founder of the Quaker movement preached to a congregation on the fells of Sedbergh, which today is an important religious site known as Fox’s Pulpit. The wool industry thrived here and visitors can attend the annual celebration of Sheepfest, a festival of the mighty sheep. Sedbergh is also the official Book Town of England, with fantastic bookshops and literary events throughout the year.

At Snaptrip we’re pleased to offer stunning holiday cottages in Sedbergh with every comfort, from log fires to swimming pools and pet-friendly facilities. With our filters, find exactly what you want, including cosy getaways for romantic breaks to spacious barn conversions for family reunions, or lush gardens for dining under the stars.

We offer thousands of properties across the UK, covered by our best price guarantee that ensures top value. With our customer service team ready to help, booking an amazing break in Sedbergh is easy.

    Other places to visit

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Antony - Verified booking

We really enjoyed our holiday at Garth Gill.

It was easy to find and in a really peaceful location, with only a few vehicles going past. Contactless check-in was smooth. The property was spacious and we found the beds comfortable. There were tables in both the kitchen and living area, suitable for either formal or informal dining. There was a spacious fridge-freezer, and the microwave and oven provided good cooking facilities. We were able to get a supermarket shop delivered to the property without any issues. Overall, the kitchen was well-equipped. The internet and TV were of a good standard. Outside the property, along with the neighbouring sheep, there was plenty of wildlife. However, if watching the wildlife isn't your thing, there is a train track in the distance (noise unobtrusive) to add to the great view across the valley, and we were treated to some low-flying military jets! We were able to appreciate the outdoors in all weather due to a covered area as part of the property. We took a couple of short strolls up the quiet road (we only saw two people during our five-night stay) and could have gone further had we wanted to. There was plenty of scenery on the property's doorstep, including some lovely streams. At night, we were treated to some lovely, dark skies, so take your binoculars! All in all, we had an excellent time at Garth Gill and would not hesitate to return (we didn't want to leave!)

My friends and my partner and I had the best time at Oakdene Country House at the weekend just gone.

I arranged a surprise 40th get together with friends for my partner and he absolutely loved it. The house is huge, stunning and spotless, most beds were superking and so comfy. The views were incredible and you could relax in the hotubs, looking out at the beautiful surroundings. There were so many gorgeous little lambs in the fields around us as well as rabbits, so next time I'll definitely have to bring the kids. They would have loved it!! There is a lovely pub we visited just a short walk away, where we had a lovely meal. Chris and Sally (the owners) are both so lovely and couldn't be more helpful, even before we got there they were on hand to answer any questions, Chris met us there on arrival and ran through everything with us and then they both came to say goodbye at the end of our stay. Their little girl is just adorable too. This has honestly been the best weekend away we've ever had and we will definitely be back, I honestly can't rate Chris and Sally enough or their beautiful country house. If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would. Thank you both so much for everything and we will see you again soon I'm sure. Cat, Steve and the rest of the group.

Firstly I would like to say we really enjoyed our stay the property was beautifully furnished with an impeccable taste and all bedding, towels etc were of excellent quality.

The good quality hand wash and toiletries were an additional touch which was appreciated. We enjoyed the snacks and tea/coffee etc which were left to welcome us. However we had a few issues when compared to our other holiday breaks in the uk; Their wasn’t a detailed welcome pack containing information/instructions for operating the central heating or for the fire in the sitting room. The water pressure in the showers is not very good. The main bathroom has no window blind and that is an issue as the window is not frosted. The kitchen did not have a long handled brush, dustpan &brush for general cleaning. The plinth under the kitchen units keeps falling when you open the dishwasher which was something we had to be careful with to avoid it falling on our toes. For some reason there were two greasy roasting tins in the cupboard and one chipped drinking glass. A mat at the entrance would mean we had somewhere to wipe our feet and the floor can be kept clean especially when faced with rainy weather. Lastly the WiFi connection was not very good. Just some points which if rectified would definitely give the property 5 stars.

We have just returned from an absolutely fantastic stay at Oakdene Country House.

What an outstanding property, everything was perfect and the location was stunning. We were a party of 17 adults, 4 children and a baby. The house is decorated and equipped to a very high standard. We have stayed in many properties all over the world but Oakdene is by far the best. The owners Chris and Sally had decorated the house for Christmas and it looked perfect. Having 3 ovens, 2 dishwashers, 2 large food fridges and 2 wine fridges certainly accommodated our large party. There was no dispute about bedrooms due to them all being equally as nice, with lovely en suite bathrooms. The decor throughout was neutral and the furnishings of a high standard and very tasteful. The children entertained themselves in the cinema room, which was great and they enjoyed the hot tubs. The sweeping staircase was a perfect backdrop to my partners big birthday celebration. We walked into Sedbergh by the river on quite a few occasions, which was lovely. I cannot rate this property highly enough A big thank you to Chris and Sally for making our stay so memorable.

Our group of 17 had a fantastic stay at Oakdene and would thoroughly recommend to other large groups looking to hire a holiday home.

Chris the owner had been very helpful and accommodating with our questions and requests prior to arrival and he was also there to meet us on check in to give us a tour and show us how the appliances worked. All 11 bedrooms were very comfortable and well appointed to a very high standard and the bathrooms were all very modern with great showers. The kitchen was fantastic - plenty of oven and hob space and very well equipped to be able to cook for such a large group. There was also ample fridge and freezer space. The kitchen had been well designed and thought out. Our group also enjoyed having the two hot tubs and had lots of fun in the games room. The snooker table was a great bonus. We had a minor problem with one hot tub and Chris was available to come over and resolve it very quickly. Overall this was a fantastic home for our group - we had a lovely week and would love to return in the future. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this holiday home - thanks Chris for a great week!
