    Carnforth Holiday Cottages

You may recognise Carnforth from its railway station having been included in the 1945 classic film Brief Encounter, and the footage of this scene can be watched at the Carnforth Station Heritage Centre on repeat for those who love a good romance movie.

Situated at the northeast end of Morecambe Bay, the town is just inland from the west coast, making Carnforth holiday cottages an ideal base for those wishing to explore the rest of the county. Carnforth grew in the 19th century as the railway and local ironworks developed: it was an important thoroughfare to and from the beach and hills. It remains a popular destination for cyclists and walkers as a result and is commutable by boat through the River Keer. Those staying at one of our holiday cottages in Carnforth can browse the local independent shops, attend the local history exhibitions or give hiking, climbing and abseiling a try at nearby Warton Crag.

Every booking made through Snaptrip is protected with our best price guarantee to ensure unbeatable value. You’ll find thousands of properties on the site across the UK including options with fire pits, hot tubs, swimming pools and dog-friendly facilities – all easy to find using feature search filters. Need some help? Our friendly customer service team are on hand to help and are just a quick email away.

      Fantastic stay at Copper Cottage.

A lovely cosy place to spend a long winter weekend. We were blessed with great weather which meant we did everything we had planned to do, and completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks over the course of the weekend and also enjoyed the Waterfall Walk on our “rest day”. It was nice to be able to come back to a warm place and spend the evenings in front of the fire. An ideal location for exploring the area and plenty of shops/pubs etc in the town. We brought our own supply of logs for the fire, as you are expected to replace the ones provided if you use quite a bit. There was kindling available to start the fire which was helpful. Boot room was a great place for leaving our walking gear and also became the “dogs room” for all her things too. Access to the side alley means you can get in the back and straight into the boot room so no muddy paws coming into the living room! Fantastic communication from the owner and was most helpful when we discovered we’d left a dog lead at the cottage after checkout. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The cottage is small but very nice.

We went when it had snowed and on arrival found a window was open upstairs so it was extremely cold. We read the book and put on the wood burner but weren’t sure about the valves. We found it smoky. Also the burner did not spread to the radiators Uke told us it never gets hot enough for the radiators. This is misleading and should be changed in the book. There were 3 storage heaters, but the front door and front window were draughty. We had to wrap up in blankets and scarves to watch tv and put hot water bottles in the beds and cover them with blankets we found under the beds. If we come again it will be in the summer. There was a known plumbing problem. There was a blockage which cleared whilst we were there but we couldn’t drink the water from the kitchen tap. It came out white. Luckily the host had left us bottled water so we had to use that. We only stayed 2 nights so we managed.

A great Christmas getaway at Copper Cottage.

We are regular visitors to Ingleton but this was our first time at Copper Cottage, it won’t be our last. The Cottage had everything we needed and more, was clean, cosy and provided the perfect backdrop for an amazing Christmas Day in the Dales. Parking is on the road but there is plenty of spots and we parked outside the cottage for the duration of our stay. Copper Cottage is less than a 1/4 mile away from the start of the most direct route up Ingleborough and is just around the corner from the amazing Ingleton Waterfalls walk, a must for anyone visiting the area. Food/drink wise, It’s perfectly located for the Wheatsheaf pub and the Old Post Office which are both less than 50m away. We also had a meal at the new Peaks & Troughs restaurant which we would highly recommend. Bernie’s continues to do the best Breakfast in Ingleton.

Wonderful stay at this attractive, very spacious apartment with adjacent parking and the bonus of a delightful balcony.

We were extremely lucky with the weather so enjoyed several hours sitting in the sunshine. The kitchen/cleaning welcome pack, plus biscuits and milk were much appreciated. We’ve stayed in many UK holiday lets over years and it’s certainly not standard; it’s a small but very considerate token - the Easter Egg was a lovely touch. Great location, we visited Kendal by car and found a pleasant walk to Kirkby Lonsdale over Devil’s Bridge to the town, where we enjoyed visiting the many pubs. The Pheasant Inn is a short distance from the apartment; there is a shortcut which could easily be missed but it saves walking on the road. We didn’t eat there but enjoyed a drink in their garden, again making the most of the British sunshine. Certainly recommend.

What a fabulous apartment excellent in every way.

Quality furniture in every room both bedrooms had super king size beds quality bedding so comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped every thing you needed when cooking all quality items . Did not use the balcony and outside seating as was very wet when we stayed but imagine it will be wonderful in summer. We turned the radiators off as the apartment was so cosy fantastic really when it was so cold and wet outside.. Had a great meal at the Phesant pub a short walk away . Excellent base for exploring the lakes and dales . Absolutely recommend this apartment one of the best we have stayed in excellent .
