Four lights didn't work, the cooker head was loose, the pillows were tired and the bath leaked.

Plus some chocolates and biscuits waiting for us. Thank you very much!

Very convenient for the shops, bars and restaurants of Kirkby Lonsdale but set a street back so the area remains quiet and peaceful. The cottage was well equipped with everything you need. There is only a small front paved courtyard garden, but it is totally secure, we had a German pointer with us and the garden was more than ample for just letting him out for a quick wee. There are plenty of longer dog walks around the area and the cottage is only a short and easy walk from Devil's Bridge and the beautiful river walks. The log burner wasn't working when we stayed but that was not an issue to us as we were out in the evening anyway and the cottage was still warm and cosy without it. Areas of the cottage (around the tv) were a bit dusty and we couldn't locate the remote control for the tv which we did eventually find under the settee. That is literally my only complaint. The beds are extremely comfortable, the shower is brilliant, hot and powerful, there is plenty of space even if there were 4 of you staying there. The Christmas decorations were an added bonus and made the already very tasteful decor extra lovely. I would highly recommend this cottage and I would definitely stay here again.
