What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Wood - Verified booking

We've just had a magical weekend at this lovely property. When we entered it was toasty warm and smelled gorgeous. As well as being perfectly situated and fully equipped, it has everything you need for a relaxing break, from bracing beach walks, to local eateries, or you can sit in the upstairs lounge, read a book and just gaze at the stunning views like I did! There are games and books dotted about, also the artwork was fascinating and a good conversation starter. The rear patio was cozy and had comfy furniture to sit and have a morning cuppa whilst the sun comes up .Location was superb, we dined at 'The View' where the food was top notch, and the staff and clientele were really welcoming and friendly. We also went to Cafe Largo for breakfast, which is only a short walk along the sand dunes. The owners left a comprehensive guide to local activities and restaurants, which we found useful. We would 100% recommend this property, and will definitely be staying again. It's worth noting that we enquired about this booking with only two days notice, and the owners were gracious enough to accept us , even with such short notice. Don't hesitate to book!

A very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Nant Bach, and I would be very happy to return.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful, and the welcome goodies were much appreciated. This lovely old cottage is set in the owners' extensive and beautiful grounds. The views all around are lovely, and the plot is very private although only a short distance from Nefyn and the coast, and is also easy to find. The only downside to my holiday was the atrocious weather which I did not expect at the end of April/early May.I only had two decent days, and sunshine on only one day- the rest of the time there were leaden skies, rain and wind.I am used to booking holidays well ahead of time, but having had two cottage holidays already this year with disappointing weather, I am now changing tack and will now be a last minute booker when I know the weather will be acceptable. However,Nant Bach is an ideal cottage to stay in whatever the weather. The two sofas are superbly comfortable, and the cottage is warm. The very calming birdsong all around is a treat.Highly recommended if, like me, your choice of holiday cottage is an old, beamed property with stone walls, wooden stable doors, a large cast iron roll top bath, and a spacious new shower. Many Thanks.

We arrived and all seemed well as the living room was well presented and smelt nice.

However, the washing machine was filled with damp bed sheets (which smelt of mould after being sat in there for god knows how long!). The master bedroom had chocolate stains on the bedding, one of the towels had orange / yellow stains, there were damp / muddy footprints from the downstairs bathroom as though dirty feet just showered, dust everywhere, a strange bodily smell in the master bedroom when arriving and limescale all in the kettle which made hot drinks taste bad. Additionally, in the night a mirror on the stairs fell down at 3am, waking us abruptly, we reported in immediately and became concerned for other fixtures, as if that was in the day time it could have landed on our toddler or dog. Upon returning home, saw the landlord charged the housekeeping bond (my card!) for the fixture of £55!!! When said fixture fell as it was poorly fitted with silicone clearly. Would not book again due to all of the above. Poor cleaners / care for the property and shocking to charge me for their ill and dangerous fittings falling apart, which is solely their maintenance issue.

We arrived to dirty bedding and towels still within the property.

This was sorted after a phone call with the property owner and an additional hours wait (previous 'tenants' to blame), door for ensuite upstairs hanging off hinge (temp fix by husband due to being exhausted from travel), WiFi hub without plug (did offer to provide one, but had one from charger to use), property flooded following heavy rain (told by 'maintenance man' that had happened before, and that we were 'lucky' as it was only 2-3 inches this time, accepted it was a drainage issue that affects the property) solution to flooding was a mop and dehumidifier, electrics lost for the day meaning takeaway needed to be purchased as 2 diabetics needed to eat, WiFi hub affected, taken in morning and told they'd be back in a bit, no replacement and no update- told to ask caravan owner behind if we could use his if we saw him, though the property owner would ask on our behalf, never heard back. Left a day early due to further forecasted rain. Works on drive started before 8am, meaning no lie-ins. Property owner and Sykes refusing to take liability for a very poor experience.

On the whole we had a lovely holiday. However there were a few things we weren’t happy about. When we arrived the instructions re the key were incorrect. It said the key safe was on the side of the house - it was actually in the garage. The code was also wrong. I had tried to ring the owner but there was no answer. Luckily a neighbour came out to help us and knew where the key safe was and what the correct Code was. I received an email at 20.30 on Saturday evening providing the correct information- just 4.5 hours too late. Secondly the oven didn’t work and tripped the electrics when we tried to use it. I tried to call the owner several times about this but there was never a response. There were no cleaning cloths in the kitchen and no bread knife or sharp knife (minor inconveniences). On our departure date the owner rang me to ask what time we were leaving. I confirmed 11 a m. She then told me she was just two doors away. Clearly she had my number and must have seen my missed calls but left it until our departure time to get in touch.
