This property is in desperate need of a deep clean and lots of TLC.

Of two sofa/footstool sets one set was very badly stained. Given that this is a dog friendly property one is left wondering who/ what caused the staining. Also a large stain on the landing carpet. On speaking to the housekeeper she said that the owner was aware of it, if so why had it not been cleaned? The bathroom was in need of attention. The shower doors needed a thorough clean, there being soap and water marks from previous guests and a dirty shower head. Large damp patch and a broken pane of glass over the bathroom entrance door. Copious cobwebs around the property. A posh roll top bath, snazzy coffee machine and double function kitchen tap did nothing to compensate for the general lack of basic necessities. Couldn't find coasters and place mats which seemed to have been a problem for others as the wooden furniture had multiple water stains.Limited pans and burnt oven trays. No complimentaries such as salt and pepper etc. This property was advertised as having two bathrooms. Not the case, one bathroom indoors and an outside toilet and wash basin! I could go on. All in all a disappointing stay although the beds were comfortable and the location lovely

I loved the Bothy, my 85 year old mum found the staircase really difficult as there is no second hand rail for safety.

She also found the lovely bath difficult to get in and out of, (she cannot stand in the shower). She slept in the twin room and found the bed really narrow and nearly fell out. It all sounds a bit doom and gloom but to summarise, I would have said it's just not really suitable for an older person with some mobility issues. I can see it would be great for a younger couple or a young family. I found it comfortable and I really enjoyed my stay. I would suggest that as a cook, the selection of cooking pans could be better, particularly the frying pans. Mum likes to eat in and it was a challenge to cook dinner with the pots and pans on offer. A mirror over an electric socket for hair drying would have been good. The housekeeper had to come in and re tune the TV on our first night as the previous occupants had disconnected the ariel to move the TV on to the kitchen counter, so thanks go to her for doing that! Lytham is lovely, and I suspect in the summer, amazing. I found the location of the cottage a boon for getting my mum easily in to the town centre and Jimbo (JRT) out for his walkies.

Me and my husband stayed here for over 3 weeks recently and we had a lovely time.

Janet the owner was so friendly and super accommodating throughout sending fresh bedding, towels and anything we needed actually. The cottage is very cosy, situated in the most beautiful surroundings and well equipped with high quality furnishings. Our only small issues (for us) we’re due to our staying longer than average, the sofa didn’t do much to support us. It was hard and really lacked comfort when trying to relax and watch a film. Also the bed is only a double, so sharing that with a man who is 6”1 was a real challenge. We struggled to sleep some nights because there just wasn’t space. That being said we are used to king sized and the bed was super comfy with the begging being high quality. Would be fine for a weekend. Lastly for those who need internet, we did have to buy a dongle because WiFi connection was bad, again that was only because my husband had to work from home, normally its not a problem and Janet did try her best to fix it. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend.

      Where do I begin?

We had a relatively short and pleasant journey to Cobble Cottage from the Wirral. From walking through the front door until the moment we sadly left we enjoyed an absolutely memorable stay. Cobble is beautifully appointed, comfortable and cozy. I had an absolute labour of love with the log burner. Gas combination boiler was also a real plus providing a heating alternative and instant hot water. All of the appliances were modern, reliable and user friendly. Rooms beautifully furnished and beds were so comfortable. Slept like logs. Adored the stable door in the kitchen. To say the Welcome basket was generous and contents of high quality is an understatement. Fabulous property. Also, great pub with lovely hosts The Sundial Inn is a few minutes walk away. Also special thanks to Sykes staff for reinstating the original booking due to an error with my bank. Professionally handled with courtesy and understanding. No surprise there then! Outstanding trip once again! THANKYOU xx

The owner, Janet was very friendly and accommodating on our arrival.

We explained we were between moving houses and had quite a few bags in our car. To save cluttering our space with our extra belongings, Janet kindly provided some storage space elsewhere during our stay, this was great as we didn’t have to worry about keeping it in the car either! The accommodation was completely spotless and the kitchen had everything you could need. So much information listed in the information pack provided. The area itself was very quiet and peaceful (day and night) resulting in some great nights sleep. The owners were only a knock (or text!) away if we ever needed anything. The chickens were an enjoyable bonus to simply watch wandering around the garden or sat waiting to greet you by the doorstep. It was also nice to have the unexpected welcome pack with some delicious goodies on arrival too! Thanks again for a great stay
