"A beautiful little cottage set in lovely grounds adjoining the owner's home on a residential street in the suburbs of Margate. Remodelled in the last couple of years to a very high standard in keeping with a period property. The garden is lovely, beautifully maintained and gets the sun in the morning. A lovely spot for breakfast. The best feature was the bed in the master bedroom, so very comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud - I had to get the make of the mattress, it was that good! We also appreciated the Amazon Fire TV which was handy for the odd rainy day. However, it is very small cottage, the kitchen in particular, with very little workspace, making cooking a family meal very difficult. There was limited food storage and no dishwasher. The microwave was worryingly placed up high, on top of the fridge-freezer. The kitchen equipment needs a rethink as there just isn't enough crockery - just the minimum for four - plates, glasses, bowls and sometimes you need an extra bowl or two! Probably best if you don't cook but eat out, get ready meals or takeaways. The bedrooms are large in comparison to the downstairs area and very comfortable and well decorated. Shame the bathroom wasn't built upstairs, as you do spend very little time in the bedrooms after all, and then there might have been a larger kitchen. There are very steep stairs to the bedrooms so this property is probably not suitable for very small children or anybody with mobility problems. The living room window backed into a view of a fence. I don't think this cottage was worth the rental for the week given its size and the limited kitchen facilities. It is in a good enough location for exploring the local area. The nearby beach is undeveloped and nice for dog walking and beach-combing with some stunning sunsets to be seen. We loved the vintage quarter in Margate and Botany Bay is a must. Broadstairs is a short drive away and has a great family beach. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by the owner taking money from the security deposit, claiming it took six hours of cleaning after we left. They met us when we departed and said nothing about the condition, (which we believe to have been fine!) which was such a pity. We were only notified of the issue 9 days later with no details provided. I strongly recommend getting a formal signed agreement about the terms of the security deposit. We were told it was for only for damage and breakages (To be fair, there were a lot of pretty delicate items around which we had to put away from our two children!) I suggest you insist the owner themselves inspect before you depart on the last day as it is very unfortunate to be in dispute after the event."

"Lovely relaxing stay. Apartment had everything we needed and more, Eddie and Eileen had thought of everything. They left us to it and were there if we needed anything, lovely friendly couple. Apartment is well located close to 2 blue flag beaches , there is also access to the beach down private steps which when the tide is out is your own private beach (watch out for the nudist though thats how private it is!!). Broadstairs is only a 10 min walk away. Ramsgate, Deal and Sandwich are only a short drive away and if you are into shopping there is a large shopping centre about 10 mins drive from apartment. If you go into Sandwich try the George and Dragon for great food and if you are into your cycling you can ride along the prom at Deal. Canterbury is a 30 min drive away and the Cathedral is well worth a visit. Whistable is also a short drive away and is lovely lots of boutique shops and cafes. Great location with lots of places to visit within a 30 min to 1 hour drive and there is always Dover and a hop across the channel if you can bear to run the gauntlet at Calais!!Forgot to mention one of the most important things of any holiday lovely comfy bed!! Just one thing Eddie change the mirror in the bathroom as you cannot wash your face or brush your teeth in the sink without banging your head. Would highly recommend this property and would stay again if we were in the area that's if Eddie will let me back after the comment about the mirror!!"

"The location was lovely as well as the hosts welcome upon arrival. The place wasn't as clean as we would have expected: there was dust, the white floors hadn't been mopped and the butter dish wasn't washed from when the last guests were there (guess the host and he blamed too much for my last point). The shower was broken as the temperature was way too high, I mean scholding hot, I couldn't rinse the shampoo out of my hair and it stayed in all weekend. We had to wash standing outside the shower. My partner was burnt on the last night prior to our departure. We are sure the host knew prior the shower wasn't working as he mentioned this is very few words. The accommodation was lovely to look at, decor was splendid. The bed is very squeaky so when your partner turns in their sleep it will wake you if you're a light sleeper. Wifi signal doesn't reach the bedroom so you have to stay in the living room to use the internet. Overall the location was great but I believe you could get more bang for your buck elsewhere."

"What an unexpected gem in an ordinary residential street. Very clean and well renovated so that the original charm remains but it feels modern and well appointed. Generous welcome pack provided by owners.Lovely garden (but not private from the owners- so if this is important to you don't book here) We were 2 adults and my teenage son and the downstairs was cosy to say the least. The lounge is not well laid out so watching the tv (that has awful reception for most channels) required craning of the neck! The bedrooms are lovely. I don't think 4 adults would be comfy there though as you would on top on each other. It should be advertised as 2 adults and 2 children (or 3 adults max)- maybe it is!Parking is on the drive and safe and ample for our single car.Essential grab handles in place for the very steep stairs- especially if the loo is needed in the night!"

"A lovely little groundfloor annexe to the owners property which was ideal for two people. There was everything that you needed if you wanted to cook a meal and a great view out to sea from the comfy sofa . We were met by Eddie who is a lovely chap and nothing was too much trouble for him. He also provided a welcome pack of essentials which was much appreciated. The property is about twenty minutes walk into Broadstairs and is situated on a quiet residential road. Broadstairs has plenty of pubs and restaurants and the little cinema is definitely worth a visit. Plenty of lovely coastal walks to do along the Thanet way which offer gorgeous views ( especially if the sun is shining ). Overall a great little property to stop in and we would definitely go back."
