"The cottage is in a good location for accessing many places of interest but it needs a lot more attention to detail. Looks good in the photos but appears to have been tarted up on the cheap. Wobbly wardrobes and ill fitting drawers would indicate cheap flat pack furniture. There was no internet/wifi and although there were 6 garden chairs there was no table or barbeque. The garden had more weeds, nettles and brambles than plants, the only sign of any maintenance was the cutting of the grass. One of the downpipes didn't even reach the appropriate gutter. In the WC the towel ring was broken and the bathroom in dire need of refurbisment. The loo seat was so loose that it swivelled every time you sat on it. The loo flush handle was almost falling off. Two loos but only one loo brush provided and no cleaner. In the hall there was a substantial dip in the floor, it felt as if there was nothing underneath the carpet and you could put your foot right through. In one of the double bedrooms the window blind was permanently shut as the pole to adjust the slats had been broken off. Soap in only one loo, no cloth for cleaning kitchen surfaces and only 2 sheets of kitchen towel left on the roll.I could actually go on but I think I have said enough. One of the most disappointing cottages we have stayed in during our 20 years of taking this type of vacation. Needless to say, unlike the majority of cottages we have stayed in, we had no welcome pack. With a bit more TLC this cottage could be improved to the standard we have become used to.We have made return visits to some cottages but this will not be one of them."

"Nice house, clean through out, Superb Kitchen (layout, and equipment provided), only a 2minutes walk from the beach. Plenty of rooms, and excellent communication with the caretaker/owner. Excellent Chippy a walk away. Zoo and Dover castle 45 minutes drive away. However: Garden, it isn't as pictured there is a fence blocking access to the larger portion of the garden, you only get a square of green next to the patio ( Fence runs from the edge of the house to the exterior fence, creating a square). This was frustrating for us, as we picked it because it looked to have a large garden we could let the children run/ play football in. Mitigating point is that the beach is very close, but when we wanted to let them play whilst Mum and Dad sit and chill it wasn't really an option as they didn't have the space. Some small issues with the downstairs bedroom doors, the door trim on 2 of the doors hasn't quite been fitted correctly so they are difficult to close / open. Fine for adults, but as they were the childrens rooms this caused some issue.Big Sainsbury's closes at 8pm FYI."

"Lovely location, the property itself although difficult to find in the dark we arrived during the day and the owner had been most helpful with directions. Outside the property is a gorgeous courtyard which is perfect for a pet to safely enjoy the sun and nose around, our dog loved it and it was totally safe. The people we met were all charming and very helpful, the property is clean, pretty and has all the facilities you need for a short start like a week or so. If you like baking bring baking trays as there is only one but the oven is great. My only negative comments is the couch is not very comfy and the TV is a little small and the wifi was not very reliable but it didn't spoil our stay at all. If you go and like animals, visit the rare breed zoo which is less than a mile away!"

"A lovely cottage, well equipped and very comfortable. Sally is very friendly (didn't really encounter anyone else so can't comment otherwise!) - we saw her at some point nearly every day and she always made a point of asking how we were. There were some lovely touches, such as the provision of bread, milk, cereal etc. The location is quiet and peaceful, but with the security of being next-door to the farmhouse - the geese were very vocal but otherwise we were not disturbed!!Cons: no wifi (although they have tried to get it) and virtually no phone signal/mobile data (actually quite nice, as long as you don't need to access your emails/similar). Generally very clean but there were a few patches of dust and a lot of very friendly spiders!!Will definitely recommend to others."

"S13653 exceeded our expectations. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. The owner greeted us with a warm lemon cake and invited us to feed the animals later that afternoon to the delight of the children ( and the adults!)The cottage was so cosy and everything inside is to a good standard. The location is perfect for visiting Canterbury and Howletts zoo but also rural enough to really feel 'away from it all'. Thoughtful gestures like leaving out a bag of goodies on the doorstep for the children on Halloween and allowing us to collect duck eggs for our own use made this particular cottage one of the most memorable holidays we have had. We will return! "
