What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr V From Germany - Verified booking

Great holiday in September! As for the weather, we could hardly have been lucky. Even when the nights were cold, we made ourselves comfortable with the heater / fireplace. The house is fantastically located and only a few meters from the pebble beach. The house has a small, cozy garden and a cute, practical beach house from where you can even see the chalk cliffs. For us as dog owners the fenced garden was worth a lot, as we could open the patio door carefree and the dogs could get in and out. The stairs to the upper floor are quite steep. The double bed is unfortunately only 1.40m wide. Not only the house with garden and the great beach are very dog friendly, but also the pub Zettland Arms directly on the water. There is an evening with a dog with beer and delicious food very relaxed. Attention, reserve table also in low season advisable. We had a lot of contact with different neighbors and they were all very hospitable and helpful. We may also have benefited from the quiet low season. In the area around Kingsdown there are many great destinations. The homeowners have collected a whole folder of tips and information. A small deficit in the house is the lack of Wi-Fi. Basically you can do without it on holiday. But unfortunately we would have to work a bit and were dependent on the Internet. Our conclusion: Definitely recommended! If the entry to England with dog continues to be so easy, we will come back! "

We had a most enjoyable week in Fisherman’s Cottage. We found Kingsdown an ideal base from which to tour this corner of England and loved the quiet laid back feel of the place. The cottage was warm and cosy to return to after an outing and was well equipped. The stairs are particularly steep and require some care to negotiate if you are elderly like us but everything else was ideal. It was good having somewhere to park the car and the little garden was most attractive and would be great in warm weather. Having a beach hut was an extra treat and we had a couple of very pleasant mornings there. A cosy cottage, very close to the sea with a pub at both ends of the lane and lovely walks in both directions what’s not to like?!

Fantastic cottage 50m from the beach in Kingsdown - brilliant location. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. All fixtures and fittings in excellent condition and the cottage is nicely decorated. lots of helpful notes from the owners. Dedicated parking spot at the bottom of the garden is very useful as not much other parking very close by. no wifi - didn't bother us at all (mobile reception was fine), but might be needed for some people. We stay in the area 2 or 3 times a year visiting family and this cottage is up there with the best of them we have booked. Date of arrival - 26 October 2019

      Rose Cottage was first class.

From the moment you walked in and saw how cosy and clean it was and all the extra little touches including an excellent welcome pack and fresh flowers and chocolates. The owners were on hand if you needed anything and were very friendly. Plenty of information available regarding the area and places to visit. I filled my days with plenty of walking and visiting things locally. There are a good selection of places to eat and drink and Deal is a lovely seaside town with plenty of character. Would I visit Deal again ? Without a doubt but only if Rose Cottage was available. Its a Gem !!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage.

It is well situated and walking distance from the high street. Janice's instructions before we arrived were really helpful. When we arrived there was plenty of information about the accommodation and about things to do in the area. They provided us with a welcome box with items for breakfast and even slippers to wear and take away with us. Janice even wrote a birthday card for my wife which was really appreciated. The cottage itself is lovely and warm with a comfortable bed, the kitchen is well equipped and there is easy street parking. We would highly recommend staying here.
