"I have been to this resort before, and as it was so good I wanted to come back again! However I felt as a couple we were given below standard accommodation and I wouldn't necessarily stay here again.We were on a chalet pushed up a corner, which by lunchtime had no sunlight on the balcony (not idea for the hottest week of the year!) and our TV only seemed to show BBC channels (again not idea when England are playing in the World cup on ITV!). We noticed other people were given much better accommodation, when they were only staying for a long weekend and paying a lot less than we did for a week.Also, prior to our stay we were emailed asking for our details so we would have a quicker check in. I responded to the email asking a question to which I was ignored, and our check in was no quicker than normal?! This initial email seemed so pointless??We were both very disappointed and when paying as much money as we did, when visiting South Devon again would chose to stay elsewhere."

"Got there on Friday and when we got our key at 4pm as instructed the kids wanted to get straight in the hot tub which was ready to use. Then 5 mins later someone come round emptied it and filled it back up which took about an hour so that was disappointing as we thought we could use it straight away. The pool was average not a lot to do other than the slides. Then our friends came down on the Sunday to use the pool and it was going to cost 40 quid for 4 people to swim which we didn't bother with so kids were disappointed but seemed rather expensive considering the pool wasn't that great. There wasn't a lot to do for the kids other than go swimming. We found a dead rat behind our hot tub on the Saturday. The lodge was ok. Food was average and quite expensive and didn't think much of entertainment so we came home.on the Sunday and cut our holiday short by a day."

"I was not impressed with the country lodge VIP. It was poorly laid out inside and did not have a nice open plan lay out, the kitchen was not well equipped and it was not cleaned to a high enough standard (kitchen floor had clearly not been cleaned for starters). The washing machine smelled and was dirty ( black mould) so I did not use it.The lodge was well heated and was very warm and the hot tub was great. I would consider coming back here but I get the impression there is a great variation in the standard of accommodation that is essentially the same price ( as lots of these are holiday homes that are rented out). It seems to be luck of the draw if you get a nice one or not. I would have been very dissatisfied if I had paid full price for the holiday but it was discounted as booked last minute and off season."

"Be careful what lodge you are booking, some are older and dated furniture and fixings, we had booked a country lodge, the wife had a look and said no way is this premium, she went to reception and complained it was not what we wanted, we was then upgraded to a newish lodge on the Fairways field, these are all newish lodges top spec.One thing we did notice walking round looking at these lodges, some was filled with dead flies, god knows how these flies had got in the lodges, there was hundreds of dead flies in some of the lodges.Also we could not have any windows open in our lodge due to lots of flies coming in."

"Enjoyable except the hot tub was not able to be used until late on our second day as it was too cold. We had paid for a hot tub to be hot from the time we arrived on 26th March and saw a man switch it on at 5pm, an hour after our arrival. We didnt get full use of the lodge & facilities for the 4 nights we had paid for. My daughter put in a complaint at Reception (which she has had to chase since) & was told the manager would be in touch. He responded on 8th April and said it would take 2 weeks to look into it! This time lag is unacceptable to rectify your reputation."
