Log Cabin Holidays

Rustic, romantic and really cosy – that’s what you get when you book log cabin holidays in the UK. With all the space you need for a tip-top family vacation, UK log cabin holidays combine an adventurous spirit with the convenience and quality of spacious, modern accommodation.

Located in some of the most remote and naturally beautiful parts of the UK, log cabins are perfect for couples or families who like to get off the beaten track and explore the country on their own terms, whether that means hitting the many miles of rural cycle lanes, hiking around a National Park, or heading for the beach and the thousands of miles of coastal paths that run around the UK. With many pet-friendly options available, you can even take your furry best friend along for the adventure!

Things to do on UK log cabin holidays

Shakespeare called Britain the ‘other Eden’, and while it’s easier than ever to jet off on an exotic holiday to some faraway idyll ‘this sceptered isle’ has so much to offer intrepid holidaymakers. From tip to toe, the UK is awash with amazing natural landscapes, lively and cosmopolitan cities, and a plethora of historic and charming villages.

The stunning natural beauty of regions like the Lake District, the Pennines, or the Scottish Borders rival any natural landscape in the world, offering tall peaks, rugged fenland, ancient forests and picturesque lakes. Although rustic and wild, the British countryside is very amenable to explore, and there are thousands of miles of hiking trails, numerous walking routes, and lots of out-of-the-way cycle paths to discover.

For the adventurous, UK log cabin holidays are perfect; they are the ideal kind of accommodation for families or couples who like to get back to nature. Many are built with luxury in mind, and so have exquisite additional features such as hot tubs, as well as all modern amenities like satellite TV and fully-equipped kitchens. If you’re traveling with a large family or group or friends, perhaps for a cycling or hiking holiday, there are many log cabins available that offer plenty of space, sleeping ten or more people.

What our customers are saying about our Holiday Log Cabins In The United Kingdom To Rent.

Laura - verified booking

"Lovely holiday apartment all located on one floor. To enter the upstairs apartment, you have to climb a flight of stairs that turn. This might be an issue for less mobile people or elderly/large dogs with arthritis or mobility problems. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need for basic cooking. We cooked every night and had no issues with the kitchen. The dining table is a little bit low to sit up at but it wasn't an issue. The lounge and kitchen are open plan which makes for great entertainment. We had friends and family over and it was really easy and cosy to get drinks/food and entertain at the same time. The lounge itself is comfortable and cosy. The dogs loved the heated window seat and stretching out on the rug in front of the radiator. The bedrooms were very good. The beds were the most comfortable I have encountered in a rental property or hotel. Not too hard or springy like most (meaning that I didn't get propelled across the room when my very wriggly husband moved for the 100th time in the night). My only issue with the bedrooms are the windows are not very noise proof. If you're an early to bed kind of person you might be kept awake by noise from the pub. This was only an issue 1 night out of the week though. The bathrooms were very nice. You get a choice of a shower room or a claw foot bath in the other bathroom. Very nicely decorated and huge choice of towels/toiletries. The landlord was very friendly and accommodating. She lives in building which would be handy if you have questions or encounter difficulties. There is one normal sized parking space. This was adequate for us and friends could easily park in the public car park 3 minutes down the road. The space is for a normal sized car, if you have an estate/range rover type car this might be an issue. The area was nice and mostly quiet. Nice selection of places to eat, a COOP up the road and very enjoyable to spend a week in. The property was relatively dog friendly. The lack of garden was not really an issue as you have the whole of Hamble on your doorstep. However, if you have a dog that needs to go out in the night or is elderly and needs a lot of toilet breaks this might be an issue. I didn't mind going for a 6am and 9pm walk with my dogs it was actually quite relaxing. The area is very dog friendly with lots of pubs offering to accommodate dogs. The Hamble common, which is a 5 minute walk from the property, is great for the dogs and really beautiful to go and see the sunrise in the morning. You have the Victoria Country Park a 7 minute drive away which was vast and provided hours of walks. Make sure you bring your own dog bowls etc (easy to forget in a packing rush) as they aren't provided. Overall, we loved staying here. It was a great base for us to visit friends and family. We moved to Scotland 4 years ago and we needed a place for us all (myself, my husband, my mother and my two dogs) to stay to visit everyone. Thank you for having us."

"There were three of us in the party including a 86 year old plus our dog. The website did not mention that the railway backed on to the property and trains ran from early morning to late evening and were very noisy. The 'lodge' and the immediate area around it was run down and a lot could have been done to improve it. All the windows were dirty including the frames inside and out. Although the kitchen had equipment very little of it matched..the cutlery was a lot to be desired and only two teaspoons. The double bed was very small with a very thin mattress...the mats in the twin room slipped and were positively dangerous..the whole lodge was dusty including the bedside lamps.beside the sofa in the lounge has clearly not been swept in months and neither had the side of the shower. Our biggest problem was the toilet which would not flush properly. One of our party helped Harry the owner for a few hours to try and clear the blockage. He left the plunger rod with us. When we informed him it was still not flushing away he said he would sort it when we had gone! leaving us to rod the toilet every time we used it. I had a bout of sickness and diarrhoea which is something I very rarely get so not pleasant for anybody and I believe caused by us having to rod a dirty toilet. The door between the bedroom and lounge doesn't shut without force..the kitchen window has a sign saying do not open because it is broken..one of the kitchen cupboard door didn't open..the oven was dirty. When we arrived we were told the battery in the remote needed replacing so we would need to do it manually..all in all very disappointed..this is not up to the standard it should be...and as a minor point the garden is not enclosed as stated and there is a sign asking you to not exercise your dog in the garden so not dog friendly really.."

"Myself, Hubby and our two barky dogs loved our stay. Lyn provided us with a lovely cream tea and a smile on arrival just what we needed after a long journey. Cabin itself is country cute but also bigger than I expected. Had a dishwasher which is great as who wants to do the dishes on holiday and the Aga was easy to get used actually fun to use it to do toast, to but it keeps the cabin quite warm. It must be so cosy in winter as theres also a log burner in the living room. Well secured large garden for the dogs. We didn't explore the surrounding land as one of our doggies was recovering from surgery but lots of birds visit the garden. Definitely a digital detox with no phone or data signal but that added to the charm - well at least that's what I thought Hubby would welcome wifi. Only grumble is that it could do with a bigger bed currently a double just a bit too small for us larger folk. Would recommend to any couple with doggies. Lyn and her pack of 5 beautiful dogs were very welcoming. Thanks for a lovely stay."

"I booked this break at Ash Mill Cabin for our 38th wedding anniversary. I did contact the owner Lyn to ask if she would put some banners up it I sent some, she was more than happy to do this .When we arrived we were both taken a back when we walked in, there was scones with clotted cream and jam, a beautiful China teapot all ready to make a pot of tea. The kitchen was lit up with fairy lights and the warmth of the area made it so cosy, and as we went into the living room our banners were up and there were 2 glasses and a bottle of prosecco, it was all so perfect. We had a lovely welcome from Lyn the owner, and nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect too,our little yorkie just settled in like it was home. We have already said we will be booking up to go again next year, just need to decide which of the seasons we would like to see next. With the beautiful babbling stream and woodland around plus all the different wildlife it was just truly amazing the best we have visited by far."

"The property is located less than 1 minute walk from a water treatment works (check google maps). The house is a decent size, our family of 5 however was not accommodated for. We couldn’t use a bedroom because of the unbearable stench coming from all of the animal droppings on the floor (photos below), thus my two daughters had to sleep on the sofa. The dishwasher that is advertised does not work, as it is not even attached to a water source, so ignore the advertisement on the cottage page. The deposit seemed very illegitimate, on the website it says £50 deposit, the owner asked for £100, and after looking at reviews others have been charged up to £150 for deposit! Be aware of paying deposit on this place due to its condition and poor sanitary levels. There is one bathroom and another en-suite shower only room, this shower leaks onto the master bedroom floor, not enough kitchen equipment for 5 people. Get pest control in, we are included in the last few guests who spotted rats by the bins"
