We have really enjoyed our stay at Bell Cottage.
Itâs countryside location is quiet and very peaceful, much appreciated after a day out and about among the crowds. The cottage is a very comfortable place to stay and it is evident that a lot of care and attention to detail has been taken to ensure that all we could wish for is provided. We appreciated the welcome touches of a box of fudge, biscuits, drink facilities and even the guest toiletries in the bathroom. Bell cottage is exceptionally clean and very well presented.The small garden area is ideal; we enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine and our two dogs appreciated the freedom of a safe outdoor space. We would love to stay at Bell Cottage again in the future. Our thanks to Sue and Glen for being so welcoming and on hand.

Beautiful, solid cabins cleverly designed & sited to maximise privacy.
Immaculate throughout with everything you need for your stay. Kitchen has a 2 ring hob, microwave and electric grill with all necessary cooking utensils, crockery & pans. Plenty of electric sockets, placed exactly where you need them. Bathroom is spotless, shower pressure and heat great. Sofa and bed are super comfy! Heating in cabin, easy thermostat control with a separate gas fire Dog blanket, towel, bowls and poop bags provided. Wood fired hottub with plenty of logs & kindling for our 3 night stay. Stunning countryside locationâ¦.glorious! Food for the soul. Thankyou to Mary and Stephen for your recommendations of things to do/see and for creating such a perfect idyll for you guests. Seconding the other reviews that this is a lovely spot and well hosted.
We chose it for the location and the treat of the hot tub. With mixed weather for the week we did a mix of walking and visiting the sights. There is lots to do within a 10 minute drive and we took a longer drive out to Cumbria for a day. The lack of oven means that cooking facilities are limited for a longer stay, but there are lots of options for eating out nearby and pasta and rice dishes are easy to cook on the hobs. We have an anxious dog and she didn't bark from within the lodge, it was so quiet, even with other people staying and it being a working farm. Outside the lodge was also very quiet. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing break.

Me, my Husband & our dog had an amazing weekend here!
We would 100% recommend and would love to go back! It is such a lovely place, totally peaceful & relaxing. Not too far a drive away from the local villages, about a 9 minutes drive to Raby Castle which was well worth the visit! The lodge/cabin was great, comfy bed and the hot tub was fab! The hosts were also lovely, they went out of their way to put birthday banners and a balloon in the lodge/cabin for my Husbands birthday which was really nice of them to do! (I did ask prior if this was something they did, but they did go above and beyond what I was expecting). Thank you again!

We chose as a family to spend Christmas week away from home for the first time and decided on the Puffin Lodge.
I cannot express what a wonderful time we had away, it was a beautiful lodge, well equipped in every single way, it had everything! Even Santa managed to find it for the kids. The lodge was immaculate, plush towels, crisp fresh linen. Cleaning equipment in abundance for us to keep on top of it. Situated only a couple of minutes away from a beach and coastal hikes, We enjoyed our family walks in the fresh sea air, utterly perfect. This lodge is a credit to the owners, It really was a wonderful stay and experience. I would recommend this Lodge in a heartbeat to anyone, Thank you.
