The whole lodge is very worn and tired, needs work done on it to justify the spend on hiring this lodge.
The lodge had not been cleaned very well and wallpaper was dirty, dust in lots of places and lampshades were thick with dust. There was also a very unpleasant smell so we called the owner to mention some of these things including broken rail in wardrobe, we were unhappy with. Its fair to say his comment was that it had been a long season and that he would sack the cleaners. He would talk to the park, too which we had a visit from maintenance within the hour and they looked at all the drains and noticed a hose under the waste for shower had been disconnected. He connected it up, but still the smell lingered.The next time the shower was used the tray filled up with water and didn't run away which is why i believe the hose had been disconnected in the first place,we called the owner. Again, he called maintenance and they turned up again and said they would do some checks of all the pipes at the time they also confirmed that the cleaners were not people they used for this lodge so there was nothing they could do in respect of our concerns of the cleanliness especially as we had a 4 month old with us. When we got back in the evening the shower water did run away but the smell was still there and quite overpowering some days. The mattress in the on suite double room was also very dented on one side as if it had a hole, so some very uncomfortable sleeping. Overall very disappointed with the stay in this lodge and very expensive for the state it was in and owner not particularly bothered about our concerns.A lot of wasted time waiting round to sort the drains In my opinion someone should have come along to at least give it all a steam clean after our complaint....

The lodge was very âtiredâ and not cleaned to a good standard(photos are available).
There were: Dusty skirting boards Mould in the shower Kitchen surfaces dining table and mats all required cleaning before we could use Cupboard which housed an arier and ironing board was messy and smelt fusty Ironing board cover was stained and not fit for purpose There was refurbishment taking place in the lodge next door and thus our view from the lounge was of a skip!! There was refurbishment also taking place three lodges away and at times during the day this was quite noisy The tv did not work on the main channels and despite several phone calls to the owner it took four days to restore which was an annoying thing to have to sort on your holiday One of the main reasons for booking this lodge was the hot tub but my husband and I did not use it and my daughter, son in law and two children only used it once as the ground around it was overgrown (in some places there were nettles) which made it difficult to get into and put the âseniorâ members of the group off even attempting to use it. Overall we were very disappointed with the quality of the lodge and would not stay again sndceoukd nit stay again

The trip was delayed due to illness of one of our party and we finally arrived in the Lakes early December to be greeted by one of the worst storms for some time! In some ways this was a blessing as we stayed in the house using the fantastic facilities without any guilt of not exploring the area. A group of 5 couples had more than enough space to thoroughly enjoy our 3 nights; dining at the vast table overlooking the lake was a particular treat. The house is special - large comfortable bedrooms - all but one ensuite - with good showers and plenty of storage. The dining / kitchen area and the sitting room are especially comfortable and practical with lovely decor heightened by the Christmas decorations. An added feature is the TV room with comfortable seating and a large screen. For those more energetic the house also has a small gym, although limited equipment (Peleton feature is an unnecessary complication for a short stay). Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed the break in such wonderfiul surroundings and would highly recommend.

A spacious and comfortable lodge.
A nice quiet area with good access to places of interest. Easy key collection and lots of equipment in the lodge to make the stay homely. Unfortunately the cleanliness was an issue. The floor had not be cleaned at all, within 5 minutes our socks were covered in dog hair and dirt. Never have we had to clean on arriving at a property. The floor and carpets were so dirty. There was remnants of a dog bone under the edge of the sofa and it was clear that large items had never been moved to clean. Lumps of hair and grit were hoovered up and I had to wipe all the window sills. The dust on the router had been there for weeks if not months, it was covered. Dog hair all over the leather sofa had to be cleaned before we could sit. Other issues we had were that the fire did not work, shower leaks lots of watet all over the floor in the main bathroom, you can see this is ongoing as the paint has gone brown on the skirting board. Freezer drawers all broken.

This holiday lodge was in a fantastic location, easy access to all areas around the Lake District.
Within the site it is also a perfect location, on the edge and set back, so quite private yet close enough to the main area where the kids park/bar/pool etc are. The cleanliness was of a high standard and all linings were fresh, walking into the lodge the heating had warmed it through and it had a wonderful homely feel. The kitchen mirrors the same cleanliness and was equipped with everything we needed for cooking. The beds were very comfortable. We did have to have a good look around for the cot bed and found it, along with the high chair in the airing cupboard of the main bathroom. The decking area was fab, having an 18 month old who wants to be everywhere gave us peace of mind that the gates lock and the whole decking was secure! Highly recommend this lodge to anyone. Big thank you to the owners for sharing their wonderful place, resulting in us having a wonderful Easter weekend!!
