      One of our best family UK stays yet!

      We ended up being moved to Millstream Ridge due to an issue with the Beeches. We we're informed ahead of time and got the key code before we even left our home. Sarah was great at sorting us out. It's the same layout and just a few cabins up so this review will cover the original lodge too. On arrival there were some lovely touches with fresh milk and local produce provided. The cabins are away from the hustle and bustle, and with little traffic made a safe space for us to explore (we have a 4 year old). Also great to retreat back to in the evenings after a full day out. The lodge itself was modern, clean and well layed out, and had a lovely patio overlooking the wildflowers.Out of all the lodge style homes we've stayed in, this was by far the most equipped and homely feel lodge. The washing machine came in handy especially after a trip to Go Ape. Location wise we were 20 mins by car from Windermere, Grizedale and Ulveston and the steam train station was 4 mins in the car. Perfect for a rainy day with little ones. It did get busy so get there a good 20-30 mins before the train departs. We really got to explore all parts of the local area which was fab as there was lots to keep all entertained. We did a quick shop at m&s about 15 mins away, they picked up a few bits from the local towns when we were out and about. Overall we had a fab time and we're looking forward to booking again next year!

      It’s important to note that this is my sixth stay at this site in Haverthwaite since the beginning of the year (2024), therefore I knew what to expect before I arrived.

      But I was staying in a different lodge this time that faced the woods rather than the river Leven. It was lovely to open the curtains on Saturday morning and see that a small area had been given over to re-wilding. A carpet of flowers greeted me blowing gently in the breeze. This is, like all the other lodges on the site, a serene haven and outstanding in every respect. Fixtures and fittings - you will not sleep in a more comfortable bed anywhere, a Smart TV, two delightful en-suite bedrooms and fluffy towels. You know from the moment you arrive you have stepped into a classy get away from it all, home from home, environment. This is as good as it gets and every lodge is outstanding. I’ll be back as soon as possible.

      What a great find!

      A lovely, comfortable and extremely clean lodge with all the space and equipment needed to ensure a wonderful stay in the Lakes. We would definitely recommend and will book to stay again. The outside space is lovely and it’s a good location for visiting other parts of the Lake District for exploring & hiking. 2 small points for us were the bed was slightly too firm (but you can’t please everyone on this) and the heating seemed to be restricted (but we had blankets for the colder nights).       Nestled only a few metres away from the gentle waters of the River Leven, its tranquil setting is a dream for anyone looking for a truly peaceful break. The interior of the lodge is outstanding. No expense has been spared to make it feel luxurious. Sarah, the owner, is a phenomenal host, friendly, welcoming and willing to do anything to make your stay memorable. With walks on your doorstep and the beauty of Hawkshead and Coniston only a short drive away, you are situated in an idyllic location. In every way this is a five star vacation home.

      Had a wonderful midweek break at Hawthorn Croft, the lodge is immaculate and clean it is as though its brand new.

      It is well equipped, comfortable and warm, the site is very peaceful and quiet would love to experience it in summer and take advantage of the patio area and grounds. The beds are very comfortable and the showers are very good. Thank you for the welcome gift for us and our dogs. Lots of walks in the area without having to use the car,lots of useful information in the lodge too. The only thing missing in my opinion is access to a vacuum cleaner, it would help keep the lodge clean especially with dogs. Will definitely be back.
