What our customers say about their holidays

    • Alan - Verified booking

We were touring the Cornish Peninsular so this area suited our needs perfectly and the property itself was ideal.

The lodge was well laid out, the rooms spacious and comfortable and the facilities all very high-spec. Michelle, the site manager visited us on our arrival with some helpful information and leaving her phone number if we had any issues needing resolution. There weren't! The welcome pack shown in the listing contained a small pack of tea-bags, some Cornish biscuits and a jar of jam - all much appreciated. There was also a bottle of milk in the fridge so we were able to have a brew straight away. Under the sink was a jay-cloth, scouring sponge, enough dishwasher tablets to last us the whole week and some washing up liquid. Now this isn't a criticism but it could be helpful for future visitors to know what ISN'T there so that folk can ensure they include them with their packing ... Spare bin-bags, extra loo-rolls, toiletries and food of any kind apart from the welcome pack. Oh, and the car-parking ramp is very steep so beware! We found it a bit of a challenge at first but soon got used to it. Finally we would all definitely recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a central base from which to tour this beautiful county and we would have no hesitation in booking it again.

We have just spent 10 days in the Juniper lodge and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It is the perfect location to explore the whole of Cornwall. Just outside of Truro town centre and all it’s amenities. The lodge itself was clean and had everything you needed. The decking area is a bit small and not very private but it does the job. The floor boards creek a lot so once one person is awake so is everyone else and the last little negative is no black out blinds in the bedrooms, obviously summer months and sunrise is early so you either wake up with the sun or someone walking on the floor boards. That being said they are small negatives and if you can put up with that then you could do a lot worse than stay here. The host of the property is really nice, she introduced herself whilst we were there which was a nice thing to do. Although the Jupiter does not allow dogs some of the other lodges do so bare this in mind. Everyone seemed to be respectful of this but last few days one family decided to open there patio doors and constantly let there dog bark early morning, amazing how many people just think of themselves!!!!! Would we return, definitely as we loved the area and if the minor issues were sorted then it’s the perfect stay.

We had a really enjoyable stay at the Killiow Lodges.

4 of us stayed and 1 child in the sleeps 6 Lodge. Michelle was very welcoming on arrival, nice touch of a bottle of milk and a welcome gift of short bread, fudge and tea. First impressions, it was exactly as we had seen on the photos. The lodge had all utensils etc for cooking but we were unable to locate a pair of kitchen scissors. Great layout, plenty of space in bedrooms for travel cot for our little one. Really good access for our little one who is disabled, with the parking right next to the lodge, ramp up to the lodge and all on one level. Short walk around the lodges and on to the old golf course was a nice stroll too. Very central for exploring the sights of Cornwall. Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Sainsburys all a very short drive away. If using Google maps, use The Kea Church hall to get you back, seemed to work for us. Some places we would recommend *Cousin Jack's fish and chips (Truro) *Cherry Blossom cafe (Padstow) *The Ranch (steak and grill) Falmouth *The County Arms (Truro)

Bella's Place is set in an idyllic location bringing peace, tranquility and natural beauty to your door. Mark the very friendly and accommodating owner lives just a short distance from the studio and offers a wealth of information regarding Cornwall itself and locations/ restaurants to visit. You will also have the opportunity to meet Mark's four dogs if you like animals with Bella giving you a daily visit if you leave the bottom gate open for her. Tthe studio really is a home from home especially for Bella, she really is adorable. We wanted to rediscover Cornwall as it has been a while since we were last there and Bella's Place provided us with a fantastic base to return to after a day exploring the numerous resorts on our list. It truly is a hidden gem and one we would love to return to when we next visit. It was perfect for the two of us and had everything we needed for our week stay. We would definitely recommend 100%

We stayed with just the two (49 and 50 years) of us and two large dogs (6 and 9 years), for one week in May 2022 at Oak.

From the start till the end it was a great and perfect stay. What a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are light and large. There are three bedrooms, two with ensuite and one with a seperate bathroom. The living is openplanned with the kitchen and has beautiful views. There are smart TV’s, oven, coffeemaker, mircowave, washer and a dryer (very easy). Michelle is a wonderfull operational manager, such a lovely person. The grounds are perfect for walking the dogs, we used the path just across the cabins (the old golf course) and that walk is a mile to the gate. Super for the morning/ last evening walk. Truro is very close, perfect for shopping. Easy acces for daytrips to the east- or westside seashores. We and our dogs loved staying at Oak on the estate of Killiow. Michelle, Thank you very much for everything and see you next time! Greetings from the Netherlands.
