What our customers say about their holidays

      Where does one start?

Port View is one of three apartments on different floors (number 5), above us was the quiet number 6, but on the top (number 7) was a different kettle of fish. Our first night was ruined by the noisy sounds of a music rave which lasted until the early hours of Saturday. We had an inkling something was wrong when around 4pm on the Friday afternoon, when a number of people entered the complex (our apartment is right by the front door) shouting on the stairs etc, and our concerns grew when loud music began to play. The volume increased during the evening and at that point we were thinking of going home. We went out for a meal hoping on our return everything would have quieted down. No such luck, in fact on our return we saw for ourselves one young man shouting from a top window, the entry code to the complex to his mates below on the road. Consequently more people entered the building and we began to feel nervous of what could happen to us. Next day we informed Sykes and to their credit got things sorted out with a promise we would not be disturbed again. (Port View is the only apartment under Sykes’ control) The rest of the week was quiet, but it did leave us on edge waiting for something else to kick off. Another problem about Port View is where it is. We read the owners instructions on how to find the apartment which were wholly inadequate and poorly written, in fact it needed a phone call to the very helpful manager (Sue) prior to going, to sort out how to approach the building. Another hassle was the parking of the car in the allotted parking space. Our car is a Mini but we still found it tight. One morning we entered the garage to find another car parked right by us which would have prevented us from accessing the car (by luck we hadn’t planned using it), if we had it would have required one of us to open the car window and squeeze through head first!! Overall it was a hard holiday, unable to really feel relaxed, with concerns over apartment 7, and issues with the parking. This leads to the question of Port View’s suitability as a holiday let, and should it really be included in Sykes’ portfolio? Can I end stating once again that the company did a great job in handling our problems and concerns, we had no complaints about the comfort of Port View either, but needless to say , we will not be coming back.

Well where do I start, on arrival we found the key lock box old and in need of a new one, the front door and the mat full of dirt and cobwebs, entering the apartment the wood flooring was springy and the beading that goes on the wood flooring to the skirting was rotten, in the bed room we found cobwebs between the beds on the skirting which tells me that there is not much cleaning going on, and that showed all through the apartment, by the fridge there was a nail sticking out of the beading which is very dangerous and as we had our dog she could have caught herself, as for the cooker well there is no way we were going to use it as dirty and rusty, the armchair has seen better days, the Wi-Fi was very hit and miss, then we come to what I would call the main problem which is the sliding doors they did not close properly there was a big gap at the bottom where we had to put a tea towel to try and block the gap, on going out onto the decked balcony it has not been treated so it was like an ice rink when it got wet, looking at the guttering over the sliding doors it is all smashed which causes a big draft, the beds were ok but no brilliant, on a positive note the views from the balcony are stunning, it all really needs a good makeover, we have taken photos if you need to see what we mean, it did spoil a holiday as the pictures that a on your website look nice, but unfortunately it wasn’t, I hope we get a reply from yourselves or the owners, perhaps yourselves and/or the owners should pay a visit to check things out, as it is not worth the money we paid, very disappointing

      What a fabulous find.

We all absolutely loved our stay at apartment number 29 The Liner. From the moment we entered the private carpark at the centre of the apartment building with our own space to walking into the apartment it felt like we were on holiday. The apartment is sparkling clean and has everything you want for a holiday. fully equipped kitchen with coffee machine, ice machine, dish washer and every cooking utensil you would need, if cooking is what you fancy doing. The balcony runs the full length of the apartment with views of the beach, sea and beautiful landscaped gardens. There’s a lovely accessible path that runs all the way round to the next cove. The beach café opposite serves tasty freshly cooked meals and has a bakery next to it for daily fresh bread and cakes. The walk into the town centre is an easy 20 minutes. So here’s for the one tiny negative and it is tiny, the noise from the diesel engine running the small pizza and coffee horse box that turns up every morning just opposite the apartment building. The apartment patio doors are fantastic for blocking out the noise of the outside but my sensitive hearing could hear the diesel engine every morning waking up. But that’s it. That’s my one negative. Thankyou apartment 29 for a much needed week away. We hope to be back soon.

Absolutely splendid and we would recommend Perran Pearl A to everyone!

From the booking, communication, welcome on arrival, cleanliness, facilities, parking, comfort .... everything was first class. The apartment is very new and modern - has everything you need (and not full of ornaments, vases, trinkets .... that you don't need). Very clever use of space with plenty of room to store your clothes, luggage etc. It is like a tardis and there is even a fabulous shower and a seperate full length bath. Both the sitting area and bedroom (with the most comfortable bed) had large wall mounted TVs. The kitchen is well equipped and nothing you need to bring along with you. Accessed via the bedroom is a balcony with chairs and a table and a view over the lovely countryside. By walking a few steps down the drive you then have the most glorious view of the bay. The apartment is situated on quite a steep hill - it takes approx 10 mins to reach the town. Took longer going back up the hill (depends how fit you are - we are not!). The large welcome hamper was amazing - such a nice touch & so appreciated. We devoured the cream tea on the balcony watching the sun set. We have been going to Perranporth for a number of years and this has to be the best accommodation we have ever stayed in - and we will certainly be back.
